It's necessary because it's the Internet. There are millions of people sharing the same space, all with different goals, values and perspectives. We're making a push to improve the forums, both technically (with improvements) as well as content. Making it an inviting place for everyone is a big part of that.
I agree to the Dotabuff Code of Conduct
> Whatever, off to r/dota2 I guess.
You will find that Reddit is also on the Internets:
let me be the first to say that johno had nothing to do with this change. He never gave any reasonable or actionable feedback. I inquired because we were in the process of drafting changes at that time.
From the Ghastly Eyrie I can see to the ends of the world, and from this vantage point, I declare with utter certainty that this one is in the bag!
basically the meaning of this Code of Conduct is that shit gonna be more or less the same as before, and u wont get banned for minor stuff, or for posting gay porn in ayy lmao, but whenever someone actually gets banned for some serious shit, he wont have a right to say smthng like "hey look i didnt break any rules, u cant ban me, wtf mods".
at least thats how it works on some other sites.
do u have to check it every time? after i agreed to it for the first time, it is ticked automatically.
The new Code of Conduct is very similar to the previous forum guidelines. Our goal with the change was to improve the language (making it more easily understood and explicitly clear on a few issues) and make it much more visible (with the checkbox).
We don't want to over-moderate or take the fun out of things (this isn't rip ayy lmao). There are some basic rules that everyone should be following. It should now be crystal clear what the rules are, and it should be very easy to follow them.
Lol, it's definitely not my fault! I was keeping the forum safe from cheating traah, fake account boosters and full of ego shit kunts with no skill talking down some ither dudes trying to learn the ways of getting better we show them ^^
We've never allowed rasists or shit like that either amd we use ayyy lmao type of threads to yolo and shit (not gore level though)
when I started at dotabuff one of the first things I did was fix a bunch of bbcode bugs so that shitposts could be fruitful and multiply. at the same time, I was very much in support of this. even 4chan has rules.
and no we never talked about benao. we've never talked about benao. there's just nothing to talk about there.
I guess someone will now be wary of calling other people to kill themselves, retards, autism and them to have cancer.
Hopefully the report button still works. People with mental issues like that doesn't really need to be in the forums.
^
I think some people are aware of the rules, i mean its basic behavior etiquette right? but just probably have mental issues and personally harass people in the forums.
^
Nah, if you post something like this below
"<insert player name> get cancer and die from it"
or
"K1ll yourself <insert player name>"
then you're doing it "right" and should not be part of any forums.
Seriously guys, basic etiquette is not really that hard to follow.
welp i would disagree
i love flame wars, since i was 10, i was threatened by random russians in cs CZ/1.6, who promised to find me irl and kill me. sweet old days.
the modern "i fucked ur mom, fucking [n-word]" jks in solo q are so casual, and you want to get rid even of this stuff, meh.
@triple
keep it in the game, it's more "fun" there.
tho you get the risk of getting reported too lol
