What would you guys consider "good" mouse settings for Dota? All possible settings that could be used to affect it: Windows mouse speed, DPI, polling rate, in-game sensitivity, etc(if there are others)
In Counter Strike, I heard that a general rule is that you should be able to do a 180 degree turn within one motion of the mouse. Then again, that game is different because of the concept of "arm players" vs "wrist players", and the fact that they don't usually don't play on the monitor's native resolution

Also wanted to add the question about monitor resolution and cursor size, if you guys think it would have an impact as well

Just do with what you're comfortable with.

in cs i use almost my entire 90cm mousepad and therefore use my whole arm to turn around, but in dota i use maybe a10x10cm square on the mousepad

anything is viable it doesnt matter as long as you are comfortable

i bet you could even play on a trackpad if you wanted to

Its Not the mousepad Not the mouse Not the setting Not the Apm Not the gamingchair or the Monitor. Its Not your Team. Its All about how much you want to win.

I would look more at how other RTS (ie. Starcraft) players set up their controls, as the nature of mouse movement in those games is much closer to DotA than an FPS.

In RTS and MOBA I assume speed is a little more important than precision, as in these types of games your cursor is moving fast from the minimap to map, might be also used to scroll the view (I personally use mouse3 to drag the view), while in FPS you want smoother, more accurate movements to aim, control recoil, strafe jump, etc.

So yeah, consider the different approaches of these types of games.
