Shadow Fiend mid in General Discussion

Is there a way to beat it? I love playing meepo and I can play around most counters in my bracket, however

Almost always lose against shadow fiend because I can't contest him mid in anyway after lvl 2, the raze damage is obscene

Remind you that there are no such thing as ganks in this bracket in my server

So, is there anyway to play around it? I can't poof the wave without getting 3 razes and die, can't contest cs either because SF has way more damage and can raze me anyway

Not specifically with meepo but any melee I feel has the same problem with the hero, anyway thanks

i love playing against sf. the most predictable heroes in mid well atleast in my bracket

      Cheap Laugh Guy

        SF is very paper

        Bill Cutting

Meepo dumpsters sf mid, just get close to him and net poof etc.

No hero can tank 3 razes in the early game

That matchup is alot closer than you think.. it all comes down to the first wave and who hits lvl 3 first.
            I'd normally buy quelling blade.

Meepo will always poof for the first range creep, the trick with SF is to glyph the wave and punish him for attempting it.

I honestly know the matchup alot better from the meepo side.. It becomes unplayable after lvl 3 and lvl 5.. you're essentially playing shove wars and jungling.

however, lets say this Shadowfiend is bad and didn't glyph your range creep poof on wave 1.. you'll have a double'd wave pushing into his tower. Also he didn't skill raze, (i see alot of higher level sf's skill raze lvl 1 nowadays, especially vs melee) Shadowfiend is notoriously bad for last hitting under tower.

You now have 2 options (you're lvl 2, he's lvl 1 with necromancy and say. 1-2 last hits if he's lucky).. You can net him and rape all his regen, or you can go for denies under tower and try and rush your lvl3.

Wave 3 will be pushed under your own tower, which is usually pretty good for a meepo as you can poof out of range of double razes. because you forced it under his tower at lvl 1.
wave 4 is the wave you'll hit lvl 3, this is usually the Turning point.. Assuming you got 2-3 range creep denies (that first one is important) You can now threaten the kill the moment you hit lvl 3. remember you can get a free Fountain trip directly after lvl 3, so it's atleast worth taking an attempt or zoning him out..
If you managed to win the race towards lvl 3.. You can now get every single deny on the 5th wave or shove the lane and go for a lucky rune at 2mins. (invis+ hastes are a kill, Illus are a kill on sidelanes, Arcane is meh, DD is one free wave of CS)
IF you miss your kill oppertunities, just attempt to double poof the wave and stack your medium camp if you're radiant..
if you're dire, attempt the same thing its just slightly less efficient.

okay, so lets say you trade even at lvl 5.. A really bad SF will double raze the wave and slowly walk at you or jungle.. A good SF will only raze if hit hits you and will pressure your tower.

note. This is night time and usually the time when wards begin to fade. This is probably the optimal time for you to try and organise a gank, or the enemy team to try and organise a gank.. Assuming the SF is good, he will be smackin that tower like theres no tomorrow and forcing your little mapo's away with raze threats.
Which also means that that SF is standing on your hill, at night time with wards fading... That is a dead nevermore if i've ever seen one. But yeah, lets say you both didn't feed off eachother. it's 8-10mins.. this is the time when SF is the strongest he'll ever be.. lvl 4 raze.. This is the time to say to your Winter wyvern or jakiro 'goodluck, sit mid, keep the tower up and don't die.'.. You now have a 4 min window to farm your blink and get your lvl 10. You'll probably lose your tower, that's just the nature of the game..
            get your lvl 10,
treads, double wraith blink and go farm heros. Careful on sf's shadowblade timing 12-14

Midgame, your timings usually are faster..

            A standard

If he hits lvl 3 first, be prepared for some double mango boots courier coming in hot and a shadowfiend about to run you down.

Thanks a lot man @Hyperstoned, really really helpful!

              Peekaboo

if you find an sf player they could probably give you insight onto the SF side of the matchup.

Like, If he glyphs your first poof and gets that deny, you're going to be a super sad meepo when the sf gets lvl 3 first.
I recall vs'ing some top 100 player playing SF, he glyphed my poof and skilled raze lvl 1.. I missed the glyph on his razes so he gets lvl 2 first and starts to deny those creeps that i missed the poof on.. he got lvl 3 first, because instead of that wave shoving into his tower, the first 2 waves were shoved into mine, which gives SF a good chance at free denies and the first chicken instead of bringing a salve at min 0 he realised he wouldn't be taking alot of extra harass from a meepo, he went all in and bought boots + 2 mangos. dropped his wraith, double mango'd and walked melee range of my 70% hp'd meepo as i was trying to get my lvl 3.
3x razed me and now i'm a lvl 2 meepo vs a lvl 4 SF. That lane is unplayable from that point.

Just annother thing, you should by cycling your meepos + stacking after lvl 3 on meepo. You don't ever want to be in a position where the SF can raze two meepos at once.. Keep one healthy, one weak. The weak one runs back to base, stacks a camp and goes home..
If your healthy one eats a raze or two in lane.. you can poof it back home and Tp your now 'healthy double meepos back into the wave'

Ye i was just playing this matchup and my power went out :D

I think i got 5 more low prios. I actually think i played 80%+ low prio games this month july

                  Shou

im pretty sure sf deals a lot of dmg early, but you farm way faster, so once u hit ur first item, u shud be able to murder him because he is so paper

sf's goal is to kite, and he needs all 3 razes, if u can bait him in or close the gap so ur too close for him to land far raze on u, then he cant kill you
