I have recently been learning offlane as well and omni is someone i have been looking at im not 100% sure but from what ive seen you can decide yourself to go full ultilty omniknight with items like arcane boots, Mekansm,Crimson Guard,Pipe,Lotus Orb etc or you can go core omniknight if your team lacks damage which is Phase boots Euls Radiance and Sange and yasha mind you this is not order of purchase this is just what i have seen often.

Mek and arcanes are doggshit compared to Helm of the Dominator/Drums and Phase boots. His early spike + current meta gives him a huge advantage over most of enemy heroes with only a few exceptions.
what you build depends extremely heavily on if you're playing against a trilane, a dual lane, a solo lane, and vs what heroes. phase drums is a lane stomper scenario which does not happen a lot in my experience. the biggest thing is to pull the lane and to block the small camp
if you can get a good timing (18 minutes or less) radiance is good but it is not going to be an every game thing and you can't get it every time (and sometimes you definitely don't want to get it because you might need to build more tempo and give more farm to 1 and 2).
i haven't played omni after all the nerfs but meteor hammer is solid, blink is solid for hard engages, arcane is still alright but soul ring tends to be better and depending on your laning you might not be able to afford arcane boots
and yeah like Tribo said i'm sure if you can get a good timing (like 8 minutes) HotD is pretty much the best item you can get
While playing party q I've seen turds rushing blink on him Xd blink is good but force staff is like a better item if you're playing as a team
force staff has too many constraints for me... i play omni off as a semi-support and initiator, force is only better than blink if you're using it offensively (to PUSH an enemy) which i feel like almost nobody does and obviously if you're doing that you aren't the one initiating
Items like hotd, drum, crimson, greaves, pipe, force, blink, lotus, euls, radiance, Shiva, refresher, hex, aether, halberd, even ac or aghs or bkb or octarine, it's all just super situational

Being really enjoying the hero and the position 3 role recently but I always find myself stuck on what to buy. I've seen a lot of phase drums and not much mek and arcanes anymore whats the reasoning behind this?
