Vlad is a decent manfighting solution against axe/lc and sometimes BS
It gives mana regen, much better farming speed AND dps boost than a vanguard

Don't listen to these idiots. Blades won't save you from of or axe. It's only 15%ls which isn't much compared to their damage output.

You get vlads when you can maximize its benefit which is in team fights where you have an aura that affects 4 other players. So if your soloing you probably shouldn't waste 2k gold on vlads just for ls
