Seems to only be a good pick if you have really good damage output already because you can't really count on puck to do tons of damage, aside from that, fighting wise !IT! seems fine.
Puck is starting to get a bit more popular lately, i guess because of the invoker matchups.

there are better mids there are better offlane heroes there are better supports

Puck is a larvae. Similar to caterpillars and tadpoles, they are genderless and will only have a gender upon maturity.

By the time Shanghai Major Is over, people will start picking Puck again. Because, S4 & FATA- will bring it back in limelight.
Great counter to DP imo. Puck is one of the only solid mid picks to guarantee not getting raped in lane by her, and puck can help set up team fights / ganks for your carries later.
Puck's pretty good, in fact the most versatile hero there is. She has silence, nuke, immunity, escape. Manages mid good (I managed against Viper). Doesn't pick off kills, but helps a lot.
