Its not 100% accurate because it is based on what people publicly display on their profiles. This is why if we look at the distributions graph there are spikes at 3k, 4k and 5k - people hit those ranks and stop playing so it doesn't go down. It also means the average MMR is likely a lot lower - people are less likely to display lower numbers publicly. Still, interesting to look at.
