Most good players I've seen streaming only complete Silver Edge when they have nothing else to get unless they have a very good reason to get it early to disable passives or reduce damage output.
Sange and Yasha is better cause it makes you not be as slow as a turtle when being seen, that maim also makes it VERY hard to get away from Slark, not only that, maim ON TOP of Skadi slow makes it impossible to get away from you, you're pretty much stuck fighting him. The attack speed is nice, the build up is nice, it's cheap, there's just little reason NOT to get it on Slark.
Sometimes I go Silver Edge Skadi whenever I face Bristle back, Spectre, or someone with an important passive.

What's the best to get on this hero? I know you always want silver edge vs PA, bristle etc etc, but would you ever get it against hereos without strong passives to increase your burst? I say this because you probably build sange anyway so more burst for your combo seems good to increase solo pick-off potential. Then again, slark pretty much wins any 1v1 once he got shadow blade anyway. The other question is sange and yasha, just yasha, just sange in a silver edge or nothing at all? I feel the stats, movespeed and especially cripple are fantastic for slark so it's almost a must-build item.
