I'm trench MMR, but I guarantee you, I've seen spammer Legions and good legions (Spammer - following cheap tactics to get kills), but a minimal of them have been game winning.
I don't even know what the meta heroes are other than invoker and I guess zeus. Is slark really a meta hero? He's always been popular and strong. Pudge? Always been popular. LC? Has been popular for quite some time.
I'd say death prophet is more in the meta than any of those guys but I never see her picked. Spectre is pretty heavily favored right now and I like her, medusa isn't super popular but is strong.
I have never played invoker and never plan to, I don't like playing zeus, only done it once or twice, and I suck on pudge and don't care to get better. So I guess I hate meta heroes too, but I don't feel my play is really affected, still plenty of other fine choices. Downside is my favorite heroes, lifestealer, sniper, troll all seem fairly awful right now and lately I can't win anything on gyro either.
I kinda don't like to play heroes that I see every game. I played Leshrac quite a lot in 6.83, then barely touched him in 6.84. Been playing him every now and then since 6.85. But yeah some heroes are just too far out of the meta to win consistently with.

I've hardly touched meta heroes since 6.84 throughout my two accounts, rarely play LC, Pudge, Invoker, Slark, Zeus and all that shit. (Never once touched Doom back in 6.85) Sure, I play a bit of PA, but she never really is in meta.
