Anyone have tips for early laning with Spectre? in General Discussion

I know how to build Spectre and farm but I always find myself getting shut down in the early lane. Is it just as simple as grabbing a iron talon and afking the jungle if i cant rely on my support to help me in lane?

8 tangos + stout shield is enough sustain for first 5-7 minutes in 90% of the cases
vary skillbuild with dispersion depending on enemy aggression

        buy pms its good

If ur supps are good in zoning the enemy offlaners, it's easy. If enemy play dual/trilane, be safe stay behind, learn to agro creeps and last hit well. After you are 5 with a ring of health and qb, you can transition to jungle.

          TripleSteal-

spetre is not very dependant on early lasthits cz you can catch up later no matter what. if you cant farm, move to jungle or rotate to another lane; no need in vanish attempts to win an unwinnable lane.

            Relentless

PMS is very good for spectre, especially since dispersion was changed.

PMS on Spectre block 20 dmg always from heros so harrasing become very difficult. Suppose the offlaner has 60 attack dmg. You will first reflect 6/8/11/13 depending on how you high you leveled, then you block 20 with PMS. Then you have 3.2 base armor so harrasing attacks only do about 25 dmg.

They have to hit you 5 times just to get through a single tango. To use up 4 tangoes would require 19 attacks. You can get plenty of lasthits when it takes that long to chip away at you.

And TripleSteal is right that you can catch-up. But unless you are in danger of being killed, just tank some damage and get as much early farm as you can.

Looking at your stats I don't think your problem is the lane anyway. It looks like you are dieing to much mid-game. Spectre is possibly the best late game hero. You should not risk deaths and slow down your farm mid-game. Spectre is always stronger later. Just cast your ult to give a little extra help in teamfights and keep farming unless you know you will win the fight.

                just get vangard

                123

urn drums phase is core, go pms if needed, also wand if needed (bristle off for example)

                  Meepawn.

would you still lose in lane(normal bracket) if u build blademail as first and core item? xD

dont worry about rushing radiance, get some early game items like pms/phase/urn/drums these will help you survive your bad lane, u can then use your ult every time its up to get kills with your team. If the game is going great get that radiance if you want, but brown boots relic is not good.

As an avid LC player, there's NOTHING I love seeing more than a boots/relic or boots/radiance or fuck just boots only spectre. And there's nothing I am more terrified of than a drums urn vanguard radiance spectre, if I am behind.

There are some lanes Spectre is just not going to do well in. I once went up against a Tusk-Undying offlane with nothing but an AA to support me. If I tried to get close to the creepwave they killed me. If I tried to go into the jungle, they killed me. The best you can do in situations like that is to hug your tower, try not to die, and last hit any creeps that come under your tower. Build up a few cheap early game items like Urn, Drums, Vanguard or PMS. Get 6 then join in any ganks you can. You can catch up pretty well if you get a few kills and don't die.

spec is an emotional hero just like sf, has low damage early game but progresses towards the later part of the game, you need to have a good support player that can harass opponents that way u can last hit... phaseboots is a bit popular now even badman uses it. 2nd is u need urn for additional magic damage and mana regen. i suggest building drums like badman does. but it depends on you. I on the other hand have a diferent build on spec but it depends on how you situate urself in team fights

Here watch badman play 30/5/23 Jan 27, 2016

extra tangoleros + poor mans shield is the key... and dont get too greedy and lose all tangoes within 3 minutes fuckn shitstain

Okay thanks for the help guys. Managed to wreck havoc in my last spectre game :D

when do you get more than one level in dispersion? when do you max dagger first?

It depends on if you are going for a "Melt squishies" build or a "Take all the damage" build.

If the former, go Urn, Wand, Drums. Max out your Dagger, leave your passives at level 1 for the laning stage.

If the latter, go Wand, Vanguard, Radiance. Leave your Dagger at level 1, and alternate between your two passives.

                                      Androgynous

even in games where people opt to rush the radiance they still go 4-4-1-2 by 11, that's probably the lv 11 skill build build in 99% of ranked vhs games.

                                        sayaka

using aggro to help you scrape through the lane if u get aggro'd or something
note that you dont always have to add dagger asap, sometimes going desolate + dispersion at 2 is acceptable if the person zoning you is a melee
if u use aggro properly you can leash out a single creep so its easier to last hit with desolate
