Mid? U jokin? Pudge doesnt need counter. Every single midder fucks him. Just buy a ward and it's done.

Pudge sucks at mid, better go offlane as pudge. Physical damage can kill Pudge with no problem since he has no armor at all and no one buys armor for him

Pick any hero? (and be a little careful). If you need appropriate character - try weaver, butcher has no chance against him.

Or if you want a bit of fun - broodmother, in "1 vs 1 solomid" I always beat pudge in first 5 minutes.

Naix can solo mid 1v1 with Pudge extremely well

uhm best out of the typical mid pool wud be ember and qop.
lc who i believe is a decent mid hero does well vs pudge as well simply because its pretty hard to lane against him as any low armor melee

Pudge is bad mid against any kind of harass. If you're talking about countering pudge in general, Visage wrecks pudge ez. Fly birds anywhere near pudge and that's all he'll be able to hook.

I'm guessing this is related to your SF game 8 hours ago, if it is just buy an observer ward and put it on his ramp before night so you can see his hooks. Also try to harass him as much as you can, so if you somehow get hooked you can still finish him off before he kills you. If he goes for any lasthits, right-click and raze him (kinda obvious tips though).
