When i saw desolator, my eyes started bleeding, and wanted to go out of their orbit. At least my glasses unallowed them to flee from that vision of horor.
Also, either you go for magic voker, or you go for dps voker (you can compare bone and invoker, to see that they have similar dps, but invoker have some spell at least :p) But you don't make a shit in between.
If you want to go dps, well, pretty simple, you make crit mkb, skady sata.
You take 1 lvl of quas of the invis (at some point, like lvl 6). and more or less 4 exort into 7 wex into 7 exort.
You'll play alacrity invis, with a cast of meteor or sunstrike or defeaning blast time to time.
