Doom is a solid counter to Omni. Get aghanims and it will remove Repel and GA. I think it's more effective than Silencer to counter omni because if omni uses ulti to engage, Silencer has missed the boat. But if you cant Doom omni before his ult, you can at least remove his buffs off of their carry and catch him off-guard.
oracle in CM is another counter to omni.
i still think invoker is the best counter to him though. tornado awesome for purging his spells.
Just how many Spectres, Necros, Abaddons, Ursas, Medusas, Crystal Maidens and Chaos Knights do you see in pro matches? All those heroes actually have huge winrate, though some are really just inflated in certain MMR brackets (like CM, who is basically a carry sub 2k).
Problem with invoker as a counter is that he's not just somebody you can pick-2-win if they choose omni.
You have to know the combinations for his abilities to play him properly and if you're like me and you never play him, it's not viable. You could say the same thing about other heroes for sure. If you never play doom you might struggle to do well with him BUT I don't think you'll struggle as much as a first time Invoker.

Omni my most played. all you need is soul ring + stick for mana then the rest of your items should focus on mobility and positioning.
Only need mek vs silencer other then that I don't like it. I want tranquil boots most games for the speed . Phase if I'm ballin.
Force staff best item after cores. Glimmer good vs pl, clinx, Riki, slark etc.
Hold tp and use when teammates are out of position (eg pushing enemy safe t1 when 4 heroes are ss)
Spam wards to prevent ganks , don't let them be available to buy. Omnis team usually wins late

Ha we won dispute the Sven , the other two were my stack. I am 3.9 solo.
Diffiusal still rare. I don't first pick omni and avoid taking him vs Riki, pl etc. When it happens I suggest to the carry to get his own Bkb and Smoke gank more often then u normally would.
Also glimmer cape.
