That thing is pretty trashy...getting an early manta is ok, but the urn..is like...meh...

AM is easy this patch.
Stout/Quelling/tangoes to start, Boots -> Oov -> vanguard and then tower dive. You're literally unkillable. Take early objectives with team and secure your bfury at the same time.
Didn't work before because Oov didn't work on AM. But now you can run down supports with it.
Just pick AM agaisnt heavy caster/mana dependent teams, you know, the way he was supposed to be picked/played, pretty much. I see people spamming antimage against a full agility physical damage team, and it disgusts me, ofc they lose every single fucking game.
I just lost 3 games against anti-mage almost in a row since the their ran cancerous dual offlanes and I had terrible weak supports. Witch doctor + 1 meant that if I go for a cs then I eat a stun, a maledict and whatever other stuns or nukes the other offlaner had so I either die or have almost no health. Meanwhile our offlanes are fucking terrible, either giving AM freefarm by running a jungle furion, or not shutting him down at all even with a tusk/SB, I mean I guarantee you if I was up against a tusk/SB offlane I would not get anything out of the lane but AM oh no he gets 60 fucking cs in 10 minutes while I get 23 because the dual offlane, their mid ganks me while our mid never ganks for us etc etc.
Fuck AM.

Jeez, AM can't be good every meta dude, he already had his time to shine in 6.85, and ESPECIALLY 6.84, he's still good, it's just not his meta, and maybe pick him against, you know? Intelligence dominant teams, not hard.
What the fuck? AM is fucking retarded this patch. He got more movespeed because of boots nerf, he got +30 hp, he got orb of venom, he got cheaper butterfly, he got +2 CAMPS on the map. Only thing not going his way is basher got nerfed to dogshit but it's easy to circumvent. Just skip basher, go butterfly first and keep OoV for control. Then abyssal relic first.

AM was absolute dogshit in 6.85, and even 6.84 to some extent. He's way stronger right now than in either of those patches.
Oh, and Vanguard is super viable now if you have to 5v5 all game long. Not what this hero wants to do, but you can definitely defend Lone Druid pushes, as long as your team has enough team fight ults to back you up while you tank through literally everything.
Oh and he also got iron talon to farm fast before BF, you can start pushing the wave and clearing your large camp every minute as soon as you have it + ring of health.
talon delays your BF and you need to purchase a second quelling blade because you can't disassemble it
500 gold wasted and on AM you don't have slots, pre-bf i'd only get a ring of regen and you're fine with +8 hp/sec
and maybe orb of venom
You just sell it and get 250 gold back, that way it pays for itself if you farmed more than 2 camps with it. It also allows you to quickly snatch big creeps from enemy camps and just opens up more opportunities for you to farm, which is good if your safelane is getting camped.

If you guys had to change something about him, what would that be?
Magebane's mana burn scaling to 1/3 with illusions is how it should be in DotA but his third skill making him a mobile pugna ward seems pretty antifun.
And yes Vanguard build is legit. I went 26-1 in 25 minutes with it. Sure, it was a bot match, but the idea is the same. You can build everything in the side shop now too. You're like an Axe except better at harassing heroes.
Also Iron Talon is retarded -_-. You're building for early game fighting and talon contributes nothing to that and takes up a valuable slot. Boots/oov/VG/TP/BFury/wand is already 6 slots. If you want to farm, just rush bfury instead.

If you don't know how to play AM that doesn't mean he isn't a good hero.
I think AM needs some kind of nerf.
For example: every time AM hits buildings, his Blink goes on 5 seconds cooldown. Or make TP scrolls / BoT unusable for AM.

Ok, new patch is out, AM sucks even more since a lot of heroes got buffed and mid game fighting is even more crucial now and pushing early and less casters to fear you.
The battlefury build is pretty much a hit or miss kind of thing, if you enemy team goes 5 man pushing with lone druid or some shit like that from min 12 you pretty much got rekt since you're getting raxed before you can finish manta and can't out-split push them.
So my question would be: did anyone here found a decent way to itemize him without going battlefury and not feeling useless when enemy team goes 5 man in early game and your team can't handle the pressure?
Also, do some of you guys think the hero needs a slight rework to make him more viable?
