Your win rate is sub 50% and you're on a smurf account, so just like me you're probably not quite ready to move up yet. KDA clearly doesnt have as high an impact on MMR as you might have thought.
What Im doing to improve is trying to make good habits like tread switching, stacking, pulling, efficient farm patterns, bottle crowing, denying team mates when possible and efficient rotations. So far its helping cause Im on 65% win rate this month (65 games). Theres obviously a lot more that I dont implement as of yet, but I honestly think all this stuff matters, especially on a smurf.
If you cant get even one high skill game on a ~250 game smurf account, then you're just not there yet man.
literally all people need to do to get into vhigh is actually fight. Watch any normal skill player and you will see how passive they play.
I feel your pain man ... although i'm just a casual player so it's not too important
"literally all people need to do to get into vhigh is actually fight. Watch any normal skill player and you will see how passive they play."
Every single time I see a medusa/weaver/morphling in my games they RUSH THE FUCKING LINKENS, even if the enemies have no potent spells to be blocked by it, it's fucking painful. Also, the number of Voids waiting to get 6 slotted before using the fucking chrono is retarded.
Play best your 1st to 5th game, easiest way to climb up the skill bracket. I see you spammed CM there, no wonder. Support tend to have low XPM, GPM, KDA, etc.
I think skill bracket dont upon on kda and gpm. Skill mean the things u do in match : like ( fast responce ; dodge spell ; use magic correctly in clash ; using fog ; map awareness ....etc) .
Don't find rmm now; just play another 10 match or more in normal and do above things. I trust u will be get to standing in vhs or hs bracket.
its a numbers game. You need to win a certain number of games at a good win % to move up. Probably take 300 games before u move up
On my main acc I got calibrated 2,7k MMR about 2 years ago, than i stoped palying ranked. I only played unranked with friends for two years. Then i wanted to see where exactly am i, so i made a smurf. I got to first very high skill match after 6 games i think, than it was abit of high skill/very high skill games. And after lets say 30matches, i was always very high skill. I played all roles including support. I still didnt get my mmr cuz im not lvl 50 jet, but i think i am above 4k, since im always VHS and got into matchmaking with players that are usually from 3,8k - 5,9k mmr. So if u are normal on a smurf after 100 games, thats probably where u belong. Cheers
playing on a smurf does not mean that you are a X MMR player. The skill pool unranked dota is so low that it is so easy for 3k players to shoot almost to 4k to calibration. Usually what happens is because the not THAT much of a mmr difference they will maintain 40%~ in ranked and stop q'n before they drop too much so they dont lose their MMR
It doesn't matter if your score is extremely good compared to all your other peers. It only matters when you actually win the game. Take this example:

I had a LC who is like 2k, ES who is 1k and doesn't quite help much in rescuing or ganking anyway (both are my friends so I know their limitations). Then I got an Omni who can't resist to farm like an Anti Mage but still didn't get Scepter as his priority while I gave him so much space. Perhaps his priority is flawed anyway. And I got another Pudge who has no blink, and will only start Dismembering the enemy Lifestealer for like once out of 4 fights.
Bitching about them isn't my goal anyway. But I am trying to tell you that there are games you can't win, no matter what you do. You did good? Fine. You did bad? Never mind, because there are games you can't lose as well.
However over the long run, winning these games with your supposedly better skills is the key to raise in MMR. I am not talking about specifically your roles in the game. Even then sometimes you might want to play support that has the potential to control the fights.
If you keep doing your very best in terms of KDA but still don't manage to win, perhaps you should reflect on what you did wrong in these games. Did you not convert kills into objectives? Did you dive and cause your team to die with you as well? Did you sacrifice your farming time just for the 1 pick off which you died for? Did you rat enough? Remember this:
"Kills mean nothing. Throne means everything."
Not sure who said this. Was it tobi?
OK you might want to take the term "MMR" as "skill bracket". By the way improving in terms of skill bracket takes even more than what it takes to rise in MMR games. You need to do more than what you do now, participate in fights, less idle time (useless walking/pathfinding, unnecessary diving/dying), more efficient farm (less last hits missed), correct item choices, etc.
gimme ur acc ill get it to vhs in 2 days? let me know.
P.S: ull drop back to normal skill i promise but might aswell give it a shot
Just dwarf them in every stat possible, the game will throw you automaticly into vhs after 3-5 games.
I have no quams in playing at Normal skill... love it! as long as ur having fun playing doesnt matter what skill ur playing. :) you should have more fun playing! try it... it'll change your attitude and gameplay... you'll be surprised how productive your game will be as long as you have fun! and dont forget to communicate with your teammates theres a reason for that "open mic" you know!
Watch my game and get owned!
It's literally impossible to spam earth shaker and stay on normal skill. Even if you suck with him he is so op in normal skill it's a joke. Do this
Not too sure how it works, but I was helping a friend in normal skill bracket play unranked games for his TI5 / Fall Major Compendium achievements.
Around 17 normal skill games before his account started appearing in high skill games.
Around 38 high skill games and now he's permanently in very high skill games solo-queuing normal unranked games.
Played about 22 very high skill games in a row before the compendium achievements were removed (end of season, no more trophies).
I've seen some dotabuff profiles with excellent KDA (4-6 on average) and decent win rate like 54% over 2k games but inside normal skill games mostly. No idea why it's like that (I don't have a link but I'm sure some people have seen those kind of dotabuff profiles before).
This my acc. See theres have 4 normal skill after that they go to high skill. My advice is make high your kda :)
