matches player are roughly 80/10/10; but the players' distribution is a bit different, cz on average a VHS player plays (sounds awful ^_^) way often than a normal skill resident.
the imageshack graph is simply wrong
the data from joindota mmr list is biased and not consistent, because low rated players mostly didnt participate in it

and the joindota is indeed only with 3000 entered datapoints
But how is the real spread then? your guess is 80/10/10? It sounds kinda extreme?
My guess was 50/25/25% at 0-3000/3000-4000/4000-8000mmr
80/10/10 is the spread of matches. to be more precise, it is smthng like 79/11.5/9.5.
the players are distributed in a different way, probably smthng like 83/9/8 (i alrdy mentioned the reason above)
Yeah, it sounds like a nightmare, but it seems to be true. Its just that this forum is kinda elitist. 4k players are average here. Everything below 5k is considered trash.
Its just like looking at that really dumb dude at your university. He might be a dumb universitystudent, but he somehow made it there, and there are plenty of fellas on this planet, who barley finished school.
Same goes for VHS Bracket.

moreover, at some point dbuff staff provided us with the actual statistics - lawliepop posted the distribution of matches in different skill brackets about a month ago
