4-4.5k region and mmr grinding in General Discussion
WickedSick!

I have some doubts regarding MMR regions. I have this impression that 4 - 4.5k region is the most toxic thing I have experienced so far and ranked on this account was calibrated at 1.8k so I came all the way from there and I have never experienced anything like this, things got so bad that more than 80% of the matches were full of abuses (starting from hero selection phase) and I started to tilt, thinking maybe it was just me I decided to take a break and left dota for a month. Now after reborn I decided to come back and its the same thing all over again. I'm not blaming anyone or pointing fingers just want to know from someone who went through this or is in this region (sea preferably) to know for sure if its the region or is my account cursed in someway (someone told me that my account might be in hidden pool thats why im getting such toxic players). Or in case they struggled how did they manage to escape this region.

Secondly I would like to narrow down my array of heroes since for now I basically play whatever I feel like playing and its not working. So I would like to know about a couple of heroes good in the current meta and grind mmr (5-6 maybe). For now ursa and wr seem viable options however I'm not so experienced with them.

Mute everyone every game and instapick your hero. Got from 4.5k to 4.8k without a single loss instapicking Terrorblade.

Juice said the same; and yes I agree with you. Ppl in this bracket are often toxic. If someone starts raging tell him one time to calm down. No matter at who he is raging. Tell him, that his rage won't make anyone playing better. If that does not work mute him. If someone argues with him, tell him one time not to argue with the toxic dude, since it lowers apm, distracts himself.

Just make use of mute. Communication by typing is overrated anyways. Use mic. Most ppl who flame do not use mic. If someone screms in his mice (happens in rare cases), he has serious mental issues.

        Mute, Mute, Mute.

        Thats my recipe.

Ppl in this bracket have often the mechanical skills and the gamesense to play higher, esp the ragers. But they lack the mental stability. I rarley see Bulldogg, Waga, Sing or any pro raging. Thats just something you have to overcome to get better.

Now you might say: "Some good players rage, too."

That does not mean, that these players would not be better without raging.

If you mute everyone you'll hardly notice how toxic your teammates are. Even if they're blatantly throwing, you might write it off as a mistake and carry on playing normally. Reading chat logs after the match I understand that if I've read this dogshit that people wrote during my matches I'd tilt super hard and won't be able to play normally and lose.

Sure I do. No one even remembers how to counter him. I get dogshit TAs, Spectres, AMs, Slardars and WKs handing me out free wins on a silver platter every second game. Just how retarded these guys have have to be to pick those heroes against a first pick Terrorblade?

Oh you play in SEA, no wonder, that is probably the most cancer region, even more than Russia probably, THAT'S HOW BAD IT GETS from everything I hear, even when I play against pinoys in US servers, they're just really annoying to deal with, and the only word they know is bobo.

I'm going to China again soon, i'm sure i'll have lots of fun with them. >.>

yea it's terrible at that mmr. everyone wants to play a core because they're at that point where they are semi-serious about the game and as such they invest so much mental energy into it.

honestly, to get out of tehre you just need to pick the hero your team needs - and that means playing a good support from time to time
