900 games, and a 2k party scrublord. Dont know about solo as Ive only ever played about 5 solo games.
wow such an insane learning curve for everyone here
I wonder if dota is eventually getting to a point where it is too complex and will intimidate newcomers to the game, hence limiting its growth
i think that'd be something for valve to think about instead of just introducing new heroes, new items, new abilities etc
@op
"valve introducing new heroes, new items, new abilities"
anyway, that's bullshit. learning is the most interesting dota aspect and if you'd degrade it just so everyone can get better at it more easily, it would literally kill the game - league of legends 2.0
also you should realise that AT LEAST half of the games are absolutely casual when we were just fucking around and playing casually for fun and not trying to understand the game or get better at it, etc
@Arin
yea fair points. I agree that simplifying the game would be dumb and go backwards against the point of the game. I certainly don't think it is too complicated now...but for the growth of the game there will need to be new content in the years to come. I just wonder when and if we get to a point of 150 heroes that new players aren't discouraged from trying the game.
I still suck after 1950 games - 1.9k MMR. At least my winrate increased in the last few months.
But I play normal matchmaking most of the time.
dota will be dead by then imo
all these gigantic prize pools and tournaments and stuff are imo just a big bubble that's waiting to be popped at the point where people will be just fed up with the game
tbh i'm quite unsure if it would be worth learning the game if you'd play your first game of dota today and decided that you want to go pro
1500ish games, started at 1.7k and have climbed to 3k scrub solo. Don't play much in a party so its still around the 2k calibration.
1400 games, 1.4k solo MMR, 1.7 party MMR, don't really play ranked and when I do those games are easy because I mostly play unranked. In unranked people I get are generally 2.4-3.0k though. Ranked games @~1.4-1.7k MMR are just joke though, and often very easy to win, but I can't be bothered to play ranked.
Also, I'm dogshit.
3.7k games or something and I'm 4.5k solo 4.9k party,
was 4.9k solo and 5.2k party but valve decided to drop me.
1500 games, 4k MMR.
Don't even say it salsa.......
don't......
4002 = 4k......
not 3k + 3.
go home you are drunk.
I'm probably the least talented dota player I know, playing constantly for like 10 years and 4k :D(on smurf)
Around 3500 games of Dota 2 and at least 800 games of Dota 1.
3.7 atm, and highest was 4.1k
About to hit 300 games, had a 5-month break since I started last August. Haven't touched ranked yet, but I'm somewhere in the low 2k going off the people I get matched with (1,5-2,9k)
Yeah, I'm trench trash and it probably will stay like that for a while, at least judging by my current tilt streak.

Just curious to see the degree of positive correlation, so I'll start:
I've played approx. 3200 games of dota 2 and my mmr is 5k.
holy shit that's a lot of time @_@
