S2 works ridiculously well for me. Finally I can run it at highest graphics settings @40 fps average, which I could never do with s1 (at max setting it used to be like 20fps and really choppy). Don't care for the intro tho, kinda miss it but still, not an important aspect for me.

^could not agree more, my pc is shit and I get DOUBLE the framerate for the same quality of graphics.
Actually, for BETTER quality of graphics, since they've improved that as well.
The source 2 client is more efficient, probably due to compliance with the new DirectX graphics pipeline needing to be implemented. The newer features, of course, cause issues with less compliant and excessively outdated hardware/firmware/software.
The new client probably uses a newer version of the client->server libraries that are in source; and as such, the networking stack probably has fewer "dirty hacks" and workarounds for long standing issues.
As for the valve intro, I'd like them to come up with something creepier.
If we are talking about the intro only, i got my -nointro command in the console, so I don't see it anyway
I just wanted to say that i want the intro back for reborn but nooooo @Mekarazium distracted me and the others that s2 is superior for potato pc's than s1... >:/=
