only thing that ever made a difference for me was turning vsynce off in dota video settings. i'd probably recommend trying with all of the options off until it gets better, it's not the worst to just have all the options off and lowest settings, better to figure out the issue first than let spikes affect your gameplay
Lag spikes could also be your internet.
Lastly find out how to clean up your pc
Hi and thanks for the quick reply.
I already have all the settings on low + turned off Vsync and shadows etc.
My internet is fairly stable with latency at about 30-35.
I have now cleaned fans & installed the latest video card driver, no changes. Still a lot of lag spikes that continues on.
Anyone know a fix?

Hi there,
I've played dota2 for about 1 year on this computer, but after the update it went crazy. My specs aint that decent, but i've been running pretty smooth when i've had graphics on low and some options turned off.
After the SourceEngine2(?) update my computer gets these 0.5-1sec lagg spikes which drops my FPS from 55-60 down to 0, and the spikes are happening every 5-10 sec or so, its unplayable.
Is there anything i can do to prevent this? Any help would be appriciated.
Computer specs; (stationary)
Intel Core2 Duo CPU E7400 @ 2.80 GHz
4,0 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GT 430
Windows 7, 32 bit.
Edit;
Tried running Dota 2 Test with the old engine, works much better, but still get spikes from time to time where the game just freezes for 2-3 seconds. Please help.
