Im 3.4-3.6 k at the moment and i have few friends in 1-1.5k and they are simply awful. Really bad laning stage, they dont know what to do after laning stage, dont use minimap at all, they are really really late reaction time, i thought i was playing with a baby, asked to stun, took him like 5 seconds to proceed the information, run to the enemy and ofc dont stun, follow him to T1, took some tower hits before retreating after me screaming to him to get back. They also forget to use items
so basically awful last hitting, awful general laning stage and game sense, forget to use items and really really much tunnel vision

I got calibrated to 2800 MMR and gained my way up to 4700 where i am now.
In many regards the game doesnt change throughout this span, in some however it does alot.
Dota has multiple stages of learning.
The 1st stage is simple game principle after 5 games u know how to buy items etc7
The 2nd stage is learnign all heros and all items
The 3rd stage is learning how to minimize your own mistakes and punish enemy mistakes. With all this u will make it to 3,5 ish mmr. Thats why higher MMR players always seem like such assholes to 2-3k players cause in our games what u just did is a massive mistake and immedaitly punished whereas at your mmr everyone does it.
The 4th stage is actually doing stuff by yourself like picking certain strategies and stacking jungle and shit. If u just not make msitakes and punish enemy mistake u will not make it past ~4200 MMR.
The 5th stage is udnerstanding AND COMMUNICATING WITH VOICECHAT with your allys. Many games at my mmr are still very quite and low intereaction. People still play their hero and not dota. That is the last stage. 'hey im behind i should farm to catch up' is what the low elo jugger thinks. in my words he is 'playing his hero and not the game'. the high elo player realizes that trading farm wont catch him up cause he will give all the space to the enemy. this palyer goes smoke with his team, maybe push tower or rosh, does something. in my words 'he is not just playing his hero he is playing dota'.

u learn dowta by drinking votka and playing on the russian server at the same time, diving T3 10 minutes into the game, while your team screams at you cuz youre not in enemy fountain diving with them
im 2.4k (srs) and a buddy that i play with has a roommate that's pretty new, and is 1k , and what i can tell you is that the difference is that 2. whatever k players have a general idea of item builds on heroes, and 1k players do not. Learning that part alone is a big part in gaining mmr. for example, not rushing aghs on every hero you play, not getting brown boots until 15 minutes, etc. I climbed (sorta) and you can too. Just believe m8. Be positive.

I am 3.5 k started at 2.1k and have played with a few 1k People before the difference is huge . A 3k player playing in 1k should be gaurenteed at least one godlike streak .
