Correct me if im wrong, but it does not have anything to do with how you play that particular game, its based on the average MMR of the teams, the higher the MMR, the higher the "skill" bracket. I think 4k+ is very high skill, 3k+ is high skill, and 2k+ is normal
Skill Bracket represents average mmr of the game.
lowest (in terms of mmr) 75% matches - Normal Skill (0-3200 av mmr)
medium 15% of matches - High Skill (~3200-~3650 av mmr)
highest 10% - Very High Skill (3650 and above)
there exists mmr in normal matchmaking as well, but you cant see it, although you can guess it basing on which skill bracket your matches belong to.
anything below 3200 is normal anything below 3700 is high and above is very high skill even though the ''very high skill games'' feel like low skill.
I think otherwise, as if you are barely carried, your skill bracket won't really go up from my observations.
But I forgot to take note which games in my history did my skill bracket go down even after a victory.
In my opinion it depends on your contribution to the game.
skill bracket is related to the skill the match was played at. Valve sets the skill bracket, not us. Dotabuff Plus purchases do not modify statistics or skill brackets.
To get into a higher bracket play more, get better at the game and there are numerous resources out there instructing on how to do that.
FYI - Saying that plus purchases modifies statistics on this forum, which I know is meant in jest, will lead to temporary bans if it continues. I really don't want to have to police at that level, but we have noticed that troll-y comments like that said over and over with authority actually affect the perception. Such as people saying that posters are banned on the forum for not reason.
Lowliepop, can you guys pin down a topic with the description of skill brackets?
It would obviously reduce the number of topics asking what the brackets are ( 'guess-my-mmr' topics too) and would ultimately result in less effort in trying to 'police' the forum from your side.

This has been bugging me for a while as when I play amazing and destroy the opponent Im put in normally match and when I just farm and don't contribute much to the team I'm in high skill... How do I get high skill or veryhigh skill for almost all my matches ? I do buy wards upgrade the courier if no one does buy detection and stuff still no difference.. Help me get to veryhigh skill plz.
