What worked for me in normal skill was RoP + tangos then finish RoB from sideshop. tranquils+aghs rush. get vlads, take rosh. boots of travel, stack diffusals, rat to victory. important to mute team mates who will abuse you for afk farming and stacking diffusals.

if you skip tranquils you can't jungle very easily for your aghs.

when you have aegis, leave your prime meepo safe in base then when a clone is killed you will respawn in base - you always respawn where prime meepo is.

with bots and observer wards you should never get caught out unless the enemy is laying a trap for you which seems pretty unlikely in normal skill.

diffusals are insane on meepo - 175 damage and not accounting for extra attack speed from the agility.

learn what colour the sven and ember spirit are so you can run when you see them tp'ing in.

skill build - max poof but get a point in earthbind. if you really want to you can save your second skill point and get level 2 poof + ulti at level 3.

this is the low-skill way of playing meepo and is cheesy but highly effective in normal...

there are 3 main builds:
1) RoP and ring of regen -> tranquils -> fast aghs
2) stout shield + branch + tango -> optional bottle -> treads
3) buy nothing, rush bottle -> treads
I go for 1 because I use travels a lot on meepo and I just sell tranquils for travels when I have my aghs and blink
But there are different playstyles and most of the people prefer treads for early dps/mana. (which is really good) However your aghs will be delayed by 2-3 min, and you keep using treads till the late game

@Rocket: vlad is retarded, eblade is just better than diffusal

For safelane Meepo I start with Tango RoP (into Basi) Salve and 2 Iron Branches (not sure tho does that work?)
Offlane Meepo (don't do this in very high skill) double RoP with Tango
Aghs first always, usually followed by Blink.
If game is going well I buy stuff like Hex/Eblade so I can do kills, if someone of my mates randomed Meepo and forced me to play it so I got 5 counterpicks I normally go for tankiness so the enemy focussed me and not my team (Skadi, Heart). I don't like Vlads or Skadi at all, I think Diffu is good but I never tryed it.
You Max Ult over Poof over Earthbind with 1 point in your passive.

I play mid meepo so I dont have a starting item build. I go to lane kill 1 creep and buy bottle ahahah

I play meepo solo mid or ez solo lane or jungle at dire side (not recommended) I hate to play him double lane
I ussualy start with tango (some times healing salve + tango) and stoud shield maybe some time I get 1 or 2 iron branch then i rush power treads fast becuz meepo love stats from power treads and he hates any other boots early game
mid meepo needs bottle

always rush aghanim and never get blink dagger befor aghanim cuz its sucks when you get blink dagger before aghanim that mean you wanna gank people but gank with 3 meepo and blink dagger never gonna work ... what ? you get blink 10 min and then what ? eveyone are under tower in 10 minute u wanna jump on people under tower ? cuz enemy gonna tp and rek you and its gonna slow down you farm so hard

after aghanim get blink dagger blink is team fight and solo kill item for meepo its core item if u dont know how to blink poof you are usless meepo in team

then i like to get skyte of vyse meepo loves this item he can easly rek anyone with hex ( it always worth it )
then skadi and then another skadi or manta or etheral blade
I like to get boots of travel after skyte of vyse
and euls - gllimers cape might be usful

items that you should never get : heart ( it give you no stats and +300 health is only for main meepo ) - Ring of Basilius ( its just wasting gold ) - Vladmir (meepo doesn't have high attack speed or high damage so vlad never gonna give you life steal or bonus damage ) - meka - shivas guard - poor man's shield - pipe

you dont need to play the bot do it for yuo

if you get vlads you can solo rosh straight after aghs - pretty sure you can't do that without it. it only takes a couple of minutes to farm and get 15% extra damage - which is a lot if you are stacking agi items. a level 17 meepo with level 2 diffusal, aghs and vlads does 1000dps.

diffusals give better agility per gold than eblade or skadi and has more synergy with my build.

if you are going blink-hex then of course you'd be better off with skadi
