How far do you think I can get doing this? 4.2k player in General Discussion

A little background about me, I played dota 1 semi-competitively, back in the days of DXD and Garena. However, I quit to play wow and sc2 (got master league in sc2 before everyone stopped playing) and I didn't get into dota 2 until the end of last year. I am currently at 4.2k ish rating, and have my original account has 550~ games that I used to learn the game and play with friends (a lot different from dota 1), so I have around 750 games total.

For climbing the mmr ranks, I decided that I would just play SF because he is fun to play. My backup is to play 1 position PA because I can't get mid every game (I can also play similar heroes like pl, spectre, but decided to just pick 1 for climbing mmr). I was calibrated at 3.9k and initially began by choosing whatever hero I wanted to play (naga, am), but I found that these heroes relied too much on teammates and I couldn't be consistent with them.

For ranked games, my record with SF is
    29 games played, 21 games won, 8 lost = 72.4% winrate

    my record with PA is
    23 games played, 14 games won, 9 lost = 60.86% winrate

I really like SF because even in the games I get outlaned or destroyed early (happens a lot), if I manage to farm a mek and BKB in a reasonable amount of time, I can still contribute a ton to the team fights. If I end up snowballing then that is great, but more often I do just enough for our position 1 to take over the game.

My PA build is aquila, treads, hod, bkb, basher, abyssal. I don't even think about battlefury typically. This build lets me fight earlier, which I think is important in this meta. It does well, but I do lose to the out of control spectre, pl, medusa, am occasionally. I was thinking of switching to spectre because of her high win rate, thoughts?

My ultimate goal is 5k, but I'm not sure that this will continue working. I would appreciate any comments or insights. Do you think I should play other heroes like naga, am, etc to be a more well rounded player? Do you think I could be doing something more efficiently? I think one my major weaknesses is maintaining a good GPM while playing from behind.

We just released an updated hero and facet statistics page featuring more data and advanced filters. Oh, and it supports Turbo!
