Phantom Assasin: bkb. necessary? in General Discussion

I'm playing normal matchmaking in China and probably lower skill levels but I find it in many games I played with a PA. If the PA gets a bkb. It has potential to change the game for the team or secure the win. Any experience on how important is this item? In my opinion it's actually pretty damn important in many of the game I played. I play as a juggernaut mostly and bkb is situational for me, but if I evaporate pretty quickly due to stuns or spells. I prioritize a bkb as the next item. For a juggernaut a bkb might be all I need to outkill a Sven. But for a PA I think bkb has a greater priority in addition to his nice evasion. And he is more targeted because of his great carry potential. Even for a juggernaut a bkb can potentially change the game. PA any experience? I only have played with one...That seems to be the item that was needed most of the time.

    THICC BABY SHUM

depends on whats enemy team, if zeus u need it for sure or lots of magic dmg and disables.

pff who needs bkb when you can buy dagon http://www.dotabuff.com/matches/1102202967

One shadow fiend? Worth it to buy it? As a juggernaut maybe not but PA I think still should get it.

Haha dagon.... Not much disable in that game.

Mmm interesting ppl prefer eblade and dagon over a bkb. I'm a bit outdated. I guess I gotta actually start playing PA to know. I always recommend a bkb when I see one dying from spells and stuns.

                N4

You have to see what spells (heroes) they have and then decide. (stuns, nukes)

                  You need 90% of times...

                  Dire Wolf

Probably 80% of the time go bkb. It's quite core. The bigger questions are when to go battlefury or not and when to go bkb, before/after basher/battlefury. Some people go boots, dominator, bkb. Some go boots, dominator, basher, bkb. Some go boots, battlefury, dominator, bkb. Some go boots, battlefury, bkb, basher. That's the stuff you need to time well.

if you don't go bkb you need at least something like a manta, skadi or early satanic since she's melee, fragile and right-click dependent (spamming dagger isn't enough, you gotta manfight).

I agree with Timberwolf, N4, and Pomi. I feel it's a 80-90% item for a PA... PA is blinking in... the focus could be all on him at certain point of time. BKB is kinda a must or a core. People playing PA should kinda know the bkb is available for him to change the game or secure the win. For this game http://www.dotabuff.com/matches/1503647392 PA could have got the bkb that allowed us to go high ground easier... He died a bit too fast... even with gyro ulti, silencer's silence, and clockwork's hook and block. he needed life or magic resistance. unless u want a silencer with a blink dagger or force staff to force staff himself inside to help, but other than that... a bkb on a PA would be ideal.

actually it depends. if you think that someone will take all the disables for you in a teamfight (by going in first) then you can opt to spend that gold on something else. it can be better not getting a bkb if you lack dps. rmb no balls = lose
