doto in china is really lucrative. Burning got almost a million for streaming. Thats like winning first place at ti4.
Naturally with that temptation, alot of chinese players are focusing their efforts to getting sponored/known.
Meaning more players, higher skill cap -> China without question the top tier beat
Dota has been popular in EU/SEA since the founding of dota, alot of players in those regions has alot of experience
While blizzard is an american company, dota was never on its radar till recently and it was largely ignored by US teams till 2010s
Skill cap wise, China > EU/SEA/US (meh who cares, its about even) > AU (its fun to play there though, i reckon)

US is trash tier, unless you enjoy playing 1-3 and stomping children into oblivion.
It's impossible to support US pub, and those who try to support have no idea what to do.
Try it for yourself, queue on US region: (Even at 5k+)
Go off and DO NOT WARD any pull camps, watch double wave of creeps come to you. (8 out of 10 games)
During peak hours you can have a good game on US tho.
The number of players on a server has no effect on how skilled the players in specific mmr bracket are. if there are more people there will just be more people at any given mmr, and more outliers at the highest and lowest ranks. since there are more players in china there will likely be more skilled players in china, but that just means that there will be more 6-7ks, not that the 5ks on that server are any better then the 5ks from any other server.
Don't kid yourself if you are 3.5k in china or EU you are no better then a 3.5k player any where else. maybe there is some difference but that has to do with how seriously the average player from a server takes the game. that difference comes from the attitude towards gaming in a country not the number of people, and the difference would be a few hundred mmr at most.

Tried a few games on dubai server. Rather obvious it's less toxic than SEA server.
Players are generally more friendly.
Skill cap wise, it's slightly lower, IMO.
Probably like what you said, the attitude of the players there are less competitive.
I'm a US player and my advice is you get better games during school hours. After kids get out of school games get significantly worse (even though I'm 14 myself).
When SEA servers went down and a large portion went to AU servers (where I play) I found the SEA players to be worse compared to AU and also really toxic.
You will only see a difference between the servers at the higher end, mainly because of match making limitations, and also people exploiting. A lot of the guys in AU with crazy mmr/stats are just players that 5 man stack between 2am-7am, not saying that they are bad players or anything (although some are), but their MMR isn't an accurate reflection of their ability relative to those in other servers.
