When you see 'wafer' you think 'water' with an 'f'. Why is it pronounced 'wayfer'?

    Wink

there is an actual rule in english that applies to this

if the letter A is followed by a consonant and then E, it is pronounced "ey"
      eg: lame, tape, negate

Wait then why is it pronounced 'war-ter'?

Because there's an exception to every rule.

          Pilot

            ^ That

Basically the rules in English comes down to "what sounds right". I remember when my english teachers would teach us about the right way to go about grammar, and then they'd go "BUT WAIT THERE'S AN EXCEPTION"

'Because there's an exception to every rule'

So what is the exception for this rule? :OOO

              [Lk].Zano

                Now, explain fucking "colonel".
