Offlane hero sometimes mid generally needs a set up normally max spirit and aura before getting ult or stomp can get a point in stomp earlier if needed Aura super strong against Agi Carries that are tanky like morphling

I play him as 3 or 4 as well. I build a eul whenever needed.

my main problem with him seems to be whenever when my teammates dies first and I'm stuck with mana items. I've been going eul first, then str items next

I would only pick him vs agi core teams. He rapes them, not as good against others. If you can go semi carry then drums, I've even seem him get battlefury.

My friend who seems pretty decent at him goes mana boots + drums + mek almost every game.

I play him as a 4/5. Arcanes/Urn/Mek/whatever the game calls for.

Your goal is to simply stay alive during the fights and help your team dish out the damage.

With skill builds, I disagree with people going 0-4-4-1. The ult you can choose to not level at 6 (only start to when you feel like the team fights will start happening soon). Try and get the stomp by at least level 4. It's great for saving teammates and stopping/delaying pushes.
