Etheral blade in General Discussion

I have a suggestion about etheral blade, and since its active depends on the heroes main attribute, i find it much favored for agility heroes, and unfortunately the only agility hero who has Eblade as a core item is morphling, so what do u think in the following remake for the item:
-if ur an agility hero (eaglesong + ghost scepter= eblade)
-if ur an intelligence hero (mystic staff + ghost scepter + 600 gold recipe = eblade)
-if ur a strength hero ( reaver + ghost scepter + 500 gold recipe = eblade)

this way the item costs the same, and the heroes will have a boost for their main attribute instead of agility.
but do you think this will make intelligence heroes OP ? specially tinker ?"
    Opinions please :)

    Wink

no, i think the entire point of it being agi based is so that int and strength heroes dont make it a core item for themselves, and its obviously a bad idea on almost all agi heroes anyways. if it had different atribute choices, it would make any nuker REALLY OP. also, the three big attribute items (mystic staff, reaver, eaglesong) all build into 2 items: satanic/heart, scythe of vyse/shivas guard, butterfly/ethereal blade

Actually no, that would make ethereal blade too powerful on int heroes. Skywrath mage would wreck shit.

        ☛ ƊƦ.ӍѺƝֆƬ€Ʀ

but its not an easy item to farm, and getting it over hex would be greedy for intelligence supports

Each big stat item already has 2 things it can build into.

            Weaver > Satanic/Heart
            Eaglesong > Bfly/Eblade
            Mystic Staff > Shivas/Sheep

            edit: wink already said it

this isnt a valid reason :p u can do a 2nd item for eaglesong and make eblade common for all 3 .

Well the comment - "if it had different atribute choices, it would make any nuker REALLY OP." is a legit/valid reason.

It would've really be that much better, as nukers don't want base damage and not that many have really heavy mana problems. Sky is the only nuker that comes to mind that gets 10/10 synergy but it doesnt fix his shit armor or lack of mobility or shit hp pool.

Imagine it on Lina. She's have 30 extra damage and 390 extra mana. Holy shit nerf pls

In all seriousness, it would open up some really nice niches for stat dependant carries like OD and CK or burst heavy carries like Tiny.

No, on Lina it would add

                    40 Int = 40 dmg and 520 mana (Ethereal blade adds 40 agi, 10 str, 10 int)
                    10 Str = 190 hp
                    10 Agi
and an active that deals 2x(int)+75 dmg and causes a debuff where the target takes +40% magic dmg.

Meaning she gets another nuke that also increases her other 3 nukes' dmg by 40% (280, 280, 1250) which jump to (392, 392, 1750)

                    OP

                    casual gamer

You already get 10 int from the agi eblade. The change nets you 60 bonus nuke damage (holy shit) from the extra int, 390 mana, and 30 base damage.

That's all you gain from this change. 390 mana, 60 nuke damage, 30 base damage. Eblade is already good on her and extra int would make very little change.

it really isnt favoured towards agility heroes, because they right click stuff, which e-blade prevents. the two agi heroes that can get it, nyx and morphling, get it because they can have high nuke damage. theres probably others im missing but these are the main agi carriers off the top of my head.

the ether blast active merely gives agility heroes 1.4 x 2 x 30 = 84 more magic damage.

most int and str heroes lack armour in the later portions of the game, so the agi gives them armour. strength heroes don't need another tank item and int heroes don't need a jack of all trades item (ridiculous mana pool, ghost scepter, nuke amplifier and a nuke itself all in one item)

it wont make the item any more viable for str heroes because only one strength hero has scaling magic damage, which is the magic portion of Elder Titan's ultimate, who is better off with veil anyways. for single target magic damage, tiny probably has the highest of all the strength heroes, and he'd benefit from the attack speed more anyways, not that you'd get this item on tiny though.

it'd probably be gotten much more often on int heroes for it's mana pool making up for the mana cost of it's active unlike ghost scpeter which costs 0. the way i see it, it'd be a buff to a lot of int heroes since they use the most mana and are generally the utility heroes, and it's a buff that they don't really need.

                        artemis

Hell with your suggested changes I'd get it on OD and rape even more face

                          casual gamer

Still has the problem of having very low defensive capability for a 5k gold pickup. You're spending around the same gold as sheep for an item that gives 5 extra int and a weaker disable with some ok damage tacked on

edit: it also gives no regen for heroes like lina who need mregen

                              You forgot meepo peeps

                              artemis

It's still expensive and mostly offensive, but for an int char justifying a 40 int item is a lot easier than a 40 agi item. The point is making it have different stats makes it much more viable on certain chars, who don't really need a viable 40% dmg increase item.

                                casual gamer

You could actually argue that a squishy nuker like lion needs armor more than he needs manapool

                                  Androgynous

thats because its not a defensive pickup. not every expensive item has to give you defensive capabilities. look at rapier, dagon and abyssal (kinda)

and yes, alot of int heroes lack armour so that the eblade in its current state is still a good pickup for its stats

                                    Faded

actually i'd rather it have 3 forms, but still build it from eagle

so like power treads, except with an active... somehow

                                      Miku Plays

                                        the thing is...

                                        eaglesong - 3300
                                        reaver - 3200
                                        mystic staff- 2700

wtf is with this suggestion....that makes E blade imba if it has three forms ... just buy mystic + ghost sceptre.... then just change to your preferredattribute :|

                                        Faded

                                          no...

                                          "still build it from eagle"

If this was an opinion I guess it'd be fine to write about it here, but since you wrote "I have a suggestion about etheral blade" I don't understand why you write it on dotabuff. Whattheactuallyfuck can Dotabuff boys do about your suggestion?

Probably dev.dota.com would be a better place to write this?

Also I think the suggestion is bad.
