O_o, I never really tinkered with this kind of stuff. It sounds rather tedious if you already have heroes in mind that counter the enemy lineup or work with yours.
@dangdang-sama: I've actually seen some pro players have the layout changed. I think it is quite a good idea to group up heroes by categories that are well defined from your point of view. It kind of helps you not lose sight of anyone.

Was wondering what layouts other people use in the hero selection screen. Spent quite some time yesterday trying to create one of my own which should pretty much suit my needs. The reason I did this is to have a better overview of the heroes as very often I tend to overlook some heroes that would best fit the bill.
