General DiscussionCrystalys as an early pickup

Crits become better the more damage you have, so the earlier you buy it, the more useless it becomes.

crits are based off a % of your damage, so early on it's bad.

Only heroes it could work on early (most efficient as possible) would be heroes with special abilities that boosts attack speed or something.

AKA, Clinkz, Weaver or dd

I like this sometimes. It's only 2k for +30dmg. You'll probably crit for 225 dmg which is huge early on and will scare the crap out of people.

I like it on Viper sometimes. +30 dmg helps get Nethertoxin into play. A crit will definitely bring the bonus damage into play

My drow build with positive winrate is made from Boots,mask of mandes and "crystalys"

Only 2k for +30 dmg isn't great, it's a pretty average return. I wouldn't get it unless you're going to turn it into a daedulus later cus the crit is kinda low. For example, deso is 2k more, twice the dmg, armor decrease is a lot more dmg, yasha is almost same price and gives you move speed, armor and a lot of attack speed. For cheaper items a couple wraith bands gives you all around stat goodness. Or you can go 850g more for a shadow blade, slightly less dmg, lots of attack speed plus stealth!

So yeah, unless going for daed I wouldn't bother.

The crits do stack, only not in the way you'd imagine. Or maybe i'm wrong and that only works for items. Anyway, if it works the way i think it does, it has a % to crit on the % you have to not crit from your ulti.

Mark: +30dmg with 20% crit chance for x1.75. This can work pretty well on Viper, he can crit for 250's quite easily which if you rush this you can have it by 7-8 minutes (Depending on other item choices). Yeah not a good strategy for all but once someone see's a viper doing a big red crit at the 8 minute mark they tend to GTFO. Deso is not a good first item rush, too much gold and its a UAM. Maelstrom is a better alternative. 25% chance to chain, +24 dmg and +25 IAS and it builds into something useful. Magic damage scales well into late game too if people start getting tanky.

I feel it is like lifesteal. It is near to useless early game and incredibly strong lategame.

Yasha/Sange, Drums or even HotD is most of the time better. Can be useful on heroes like TA but still not worth it.
