    Why is there a first blood mechanic anyways? I feel it shouldn't be in the game. Clarification on this?

          Because he feeds first blood to enemy team more often than he draws first blood.

            It's kind of like kill streaks. They are just fun mechanics, but they let you punish the snowballing team heavily. First blood is the same way. It'll make you waste more resources on that kill because it's worth 2 kills and also boosts your teams morale.               I just think its a hyper thing and not really necessary for the game. A kill should be a kill. kill streaks can remain in the game cause they reward consistent behavior. But first blood is usually first to last hit, or a successful lvl1 smoke gank. Not very entertaining to me and doesn't seem necessary.

                Kill streaks don't reward consistent behavior wtf. They make it risky. You don't wanna give a spectre that is a recipe away from radiance 1000 gold by dying.

                  Also, the 6.79 patch the kill streaks added a comeback mechanic for the losing team. Actually, now that I think about it, the .79 patch moved the game towards the easy mode of dota1. More passive gold, more gold to towers, more gold on ending kill streaks. More gold = more items = more action.

                        Well if dota is a game of momentum and map control, why not get rid of those type of momentum rewards in a future patch and see how the meta changes?

                          First Blood is in the game to encourage players to clash early when they are at low levels rather than turtle and play safe.

                          I think a more important question to ask is why people find it necessary to purchase accounts.
