There isn't an empty slot for the prismatic gem, you have to directly insert it over your old colour, losing the old colour in the process
Really? I thought you had to lose the old colour in the process, unless that was a bug with the sickening which they fixed. I remember cyborgmatt saying that players shouldn't use a hammer on it or something
I don't think that's true Concede, I think that's only the case for couriers?
Then again, I've never seen this arcana equipped with no gem in the slot, so what do I know.
I am not quite sure the item gets destroyed, then again I might be wrong.
I remember you could use that hammer (don't remember the item name..) to remove gems, in the process the hammer gets consumed but the gem and item stay

Using an artifices hammer removes gems from items, including the prismatic, and doesn't destroy either the gem or the item. However I remember there being something along the lines of there being an "invisible gem" on the arcana that breaks something if it's removed, therefore I think you have to place a new colour directly over the old one, which destroys the old one

thanks for the clarification, so in fact there's this invisible attribute that might be broken by modifying without placing a new gem on top.
