Funny stuff. Although I somewhat disagree with the op. Magic resistance in many rpgs allows you to completely resist spell effects and some spells deal binary damage meaning they land and do full or don't land at all. Magic resistance in dota is basically magic armor, which is quite different from a lot of rpgs.

What like should we add in elemental magic resistance like Final Fantasy or something:

Water
Wind
Earth
Fire
Lit
Light
Dark
Poison

That would add quite a bit more complexity to the game.
