UK Team Seeking #3 in General Discussion
Vasquea 马可

    Intro
We are a UK based team named Vertility (This will most likely change) who wish to enter into the professional side of Dota 2 and compete in tournaments and possibly travel to LAN events. For this reason we would much prefer players based in the UK who are willing to commit their time and efforts to the team and form bonds as a friend and grow together as a team.

    About Us
We are currently four good friends who are seeking a fifth player to play in the 3rd position for our team. Our team as it stands is
    1. Scranner - http://dotabuff.com/players/78200130
    2. BlueDiabloXIII - http://dotabuff.com/players/77938801
    3. Vacant
    4. Vasquea - http://dotabuff.com/players/81717468
    5/6. Perryooo - http://dotabuff.com/players/85408871

As a team we have very outgoing personalities and are all very competitive. Like any team we like to joke and have a good laugh but we know when we need to be serious and do so. The youngest of our group is 18 and we range up to 20, due to us wanting to go to LAN tournaments we would prefer 18 and over but if you are under 18 and know you can attend these tournaments and travel abroad for these matches we won't rule you out as a player.
We as a team also have hopes of moving into a gaming house when it is financially suitable and all living together as a team so this is another must. We use teamspeak as our primary voice communication so this is a must if you wish to play with us as communication is key when playing dota. We have set training times which can be found here http://goo.gl/7lgXPK and a single day dedicated to reviewing our gameplay and setting team and personal goals for players.

We have competed in small tournaments but recently lost a friend due to the stress from the intensity level of amateur tournaments and the dedication required and this is the reason for us currently searching for a new player to join our roster and form strong bonds with.

    What we expect from you
We expect you to be dedicated to this team as a whole. To go into the details of this we will have set times we will practice and we aim to practice 7 days a week, if you can’t make this commitment then this is not the team for you. We as a team have the drive and dedication to go professional and full well intend to. We will be competing in all possible weekly tournaments and intend to scrim upwards of 4 times a day when possible. If this sounds like the intensity and commitment level you are looking for in a team then we are for you. This post may come off as very harsh but we wish to find this player as fast as possible and waste as little of our and your time as possible as we intend to enter tournaments as soon as possible.

    Our end goal
Our end goal as a team is simple, we want to be the best. We want to make a living from what we enjoy most and that is playing games and we hope to share that dream with one more person.

    Contact and Information
If you want to contact us and are intrested in joining our team please contact the captain Perryooo http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198045674599/ to get the teamspeak information for a small interview and trails to play with us.

Dunno how serious you could be though if you have gone up by like 400 games since we last met two years ago. How much Dota2 do you actually play?

              Scranner

There is nothing wrong with a 50% win rate by any means, if anything it means that the system that valve have attempted to implements has worked and there is proof of this strewn across the forums and even dotabuff!

Over time you will find that win rates will usually descend to meet this 50% rate that valve kind of want for example the most played player on dotabuff all hover around this number with 5-7k games! (http://dotabuff.com/players/played)

This had begun to intrest me too and i looked through some dotabuff stats more and found even those with the highest durations played fall into the same zone of 50% and a very nice fourm post backing this idea of 50% up too! (http://www.playdota.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1394726) it is done to try and give all players as explained in that playdota post a equal chance to win and have fun.

the other big factor you have missed out is the co-ordination difference between a pub game and TMM, there is a lot more communication as you are playing and queueing as a 5 and will work together and try and help each other improve, that is the difference between a pub and a TMM game.

I under stand why you would bring up this about 50% win rate but with all that i have researched tonight on the subject i am against taking the stats of a players pub game as their given skill level unless it is ridiculously low. When we look at people we ignore peoples play time and look more to games played to show for experience and unless we see really no point and all agree there is no point we dont eliminate anyone, we merely use dotabuff as a small insight into the player and i hope this post might change both your views too!

I agree, 50% is fairly standard across the board and it is not an accurate representation of the player. You have to watch his games to understand him.

its bad if you wanna go pro (50)

                    Scranner

You will find even pro players will hover between 50% - 70% usually according to the stats on dotabuff averaging out around 60ish % (dident actully plug in all the numbers but looking at the scores the majority seems to sit in that 60% bracket) as shown here http://dotabuff.com/players/verified. A lot of pro players don't even play pubs that often and will opt to scrim versus other teams when wont even record stats for you to view as a "real match" according to dotabuffs records so you will find that a pro's players games wont even represent their level of play and this also is true for players who mainly play TMM and scrim. The system does not account for this and i feel you are overlooking it. Even as a pro player they fall under the 50% scheme i outlined above but a lot of the players in the pro scene will be good enough to overcome this and carry games but not always and this is why they are above the average. For example i have 1000 games with a 50% win ration, it would not be out of the question for me to play 1000 more games with a 75% win rate of them and raise my new winrate to 62.5% but i will constantly be fighting against a system that wants me to win 50% of my games.

The ones above 60 are because they stack. Good solo queuers have 55-59

edit: on the verified players page there is only one professional player (not a caster / personality / whatever) who has a sub 55 winrate and that's RoX.KIS.Nexus with 53.71% (close enough)

I have no idea where this forced win rate thing comes from. Just because a lot of people have 50% doesn't mean its forced.

My win rate is a by product of who I play with and it will continue to remain close to this due to the increased difficulty of getting winrate up. If I had as many games as you with the win advantage i currently have I would be at 55% win rate right now.

While there are things you can do to improve your chances of winning its not something that is forced upon you. There is an equal chance of winning to losing which is 50/50 so obviously if you aren't take any steps to improve your win chance then you will remain for ever on the cusp of 50%.

Your research is based on peoples forum QQ's of Valve forcing 50% win rate on them but this is not the case. I agree win rate is not always representative of skill but it can help you gauge a teams winning chances based on how well they play in pubs e.g. you stack somewhat and still maintain just 10 games above losses.

Keep in mind there are no second chances and this is what can cause a team to disband or have members leave. 50% win rate is fine in pubs but isn't in TMM or leagues and you will find yourself putting a lot of time into something that isn't going to bring about much bearing.

.....that being said I am happy to play with you guys as I am always looking for people in the UK to play with and know a lot of good UK players who might want to try it out who I can suggest.

@OA | Havoc Badger I am trying to remeber when I played with you did u go under a different name back them, and about the games during that time I joined a team and only played TMM for like 5-6 months every day which does not show on your dotabuff then I went on a break from most gaming and all that time just adds up. Now even scranner on the team has more games than me because all he mainly did was pubs

                            Vasquea 马可

The game was two years ago not even I would remember. I was simply referencing that game as a springboard for time span vs games played in my previous post.
