    that pretty much desc. the thread D:

      Not me, but that would certainly explain a lot about some games.

      doodad

        why would you even do that

          I could see a low MMR player lending his account to a friend. Some people value MMR enough to pay for it, and some people enjoy stomping games. If the two people are just the right types, lending in that situation could be mutually beneficial.

          On the other hand, most people value their MMR not going down. I couldn't really see a person with higher MMR lending to a friend with lower MMR.

          To answer the original question: I haven't done it. I like the idea of every game on my account standing for my actions. It becomes impure if it's a mixture of my games and other peoples' games.

            dunno i don't find it hard to come back to my original rating. And if he wants to play some high lvled games then i allow him too. Only an abuser would be scared of lending an account to his friend because of the rating, since he can't abuse it anymore.

            @Zano:
            LoL, gimme an example :D

            @shinji:
            why wouldn't i?

              never.

              Ignoring the 1000 items on my account, MMR shouldn't be a e-peen competition (though obviously it is). It is simply a number to help you gauge your progress and the general skill level of your opponents.

                ^this is the reason why i stopped playing pubs
                5k mmr games are worse than 3k due to people buying and lending accs

                  like this account for example.

                  I find a 4k player's normally much more significant and worthy of respect than what the guy above me is posting with. Starting a new account isn't really that bad, but the stats on such accounts are meaningless.

                    i lend my account to siblings. if a friend would like to try it out, i would gladly allow them to use my account.
                    i dont really care about anythings, i play cause its fun

                      @Fnatic.Blunt.Grimmjow.Mancrush

                      http://dotabuff.com/matches/560970293 This for example. I've played before with the Meepo guy before, though I don't personally know him, the difference in skill of his Meepo compared to...pretty much every other hero (I'm talking about feeding visage's familiar, one-man RPs, press R before blinking with Tide/Magnus style sucking) is just so much that I sometimes wonder if he's lending his account to someone that can actually play.

                      Though who knows...maybe he's just that good with Meepo. Ok, he died 10 times, but that's because he was always where there was action...and he liked to man-up to Axe when he didn't have many items, so his antics were still there :D

                      Sucky example, but hey, I play sporadically, so I can't remember every game :P

                        LoL
                        u should have seen when my friend lend my account @ christmas, i had like -800mmr, i did at least have fun crushing scrubs, but yeah i get ya :D

                        Gustaphos

                          Nope. Sounds dumb. If I'm too lazy to do hard work on a game that is for fun, then what else am I going to pass along to other people to put their hard work in for me? Sounds like fat kid that doesn't get hugged enough syndrome.

                          At least Chinese workers are getting paid to play video games and sell accounts for food and shelter. I find the e-commerce trade of non-tangible items such as status on an account or digital items like WoW or Diablo 3 etc etc is a smart business feeding on stupid people. Why didn't I think of that first? Oh yeah because I get paid better having a real job. Duh.

                            hard work?

                            I'm amazed how many acually think playing dota is some sort of work.

                            You never have fun playing now do ya?
