But all these abilities that go through evasion are still dodged by Backtrack, correct?
Yep, backtrack =/= evasion, so getting something like butterfly is still optimal.

Pretty accurate, took a couple notes down, there's a ton of info in there.
people buy mkb againt fv because when fv builds butterfly the evasion from butterfly and the backtrack "evasion" stacks to give >50% evasion against physical atks
So can faceless void dodge the initial damage from rupture but doesnt backtrack if he moves? Even though that should be hp removal.
Actually if I remember correctly, since it is a heal-back mechanic, you can't backtrack killing moves. But I guess that's only in Dota 1.
you can ^ it activates after (it connects) but acts before (damage impacts)...if u get what i mean...
In clearer words, in dota1 you couldn't backtrack a damage instance bigger than your total HP and also you couldn't backtrack damage if you were fully healed, because being a triggered-heal, the game understood it as there was nothing to heal, so beggining a move on Void by hitting him with Laguna Blade/Finger of Death first was optimal. I'm not sure how it works now in Dota2.
@HǣL
Moves that have enough damage to kill you. For example, Abaddon's ulti auto-activation works in order:
1) Took damage;
2) Activate the ulti;
3) heal taken damage twice.
So, if you receive a blow that can kill you - you'll just die because Borrowed Time won't activate.
^ does that mean you could use Lion or Lina ulti to kill Abbadon before the ulti activates? Which means that Axe is not the only one to counter that?
In dota1 you could avoid killing moves as well, because the triggered heal occured before the damage
@Hakuna
Yes, lion/lina are some examples, PA's crit, or anything that deals more damage than Abbadon's lowest HP threshold for his ultimate.
I'm pretty sure I've seen void backtrack something like "Finger of death" at low HP (enough to finish him off)
@ Sirius Lee
Yeah I've seen the same I'm pretty sure.
As for buying mkb against FV, why not? If he gets bfly it negates that portion of evasion, and the dps from mkb isn't bad.
Wait, what I meant was that you couldn't backtrack a damage instance bigger than your total HP =/= current hp. Say, if you have a meager 1.5k total HP, fully healed and all, at your disposal and an overfarmed PA crits you for 2.8k damage, no amount of animals sacrificed to RNGesus will make you backtrack that damage instance, because it simply cannot be backtracked.
Yes but it's probably outdated. And if a PA can crit you for 2.8k the game is pretty much over anyway.
Probably and yeh, that was just an example. What I haven't tested yet is if Void can still not backtrack damage if he is fully healed with dota2 mechanics. Too lazy.
I just want to mention that if someone buys MKB against faceless void, they aren't automatically buying it with the wrong idea of countering his backtrack. Butterfly is a common item on FV, especially against right clickers that would get MKB, so it's pretty common to preemptively get MKB to counter the Butterfly he might buy.
^
That's generally not the reason in my experience, most of the time people argue that MKB works through backtrack, because backtrack is like evasion.
I said,"no, it's literally a dodge/immediate-restoration or whatever - if it can avoid spells... then it can definitely avoid would-be truestrike hits"

Doom's "Doom" disables evasion.
Faceless Void cannot miss enemy heroes with evasion that are trapped in a Chronosphere. He can still miss if he has a debuff causing a miss chance.
Faceless Void has a 10%/15%/20%/25% chance to dodge any type of attack OR spell with any type of damage except HP Removal using his passive ability "Backtrack". This complex passive skill is the best type of damage avoidance in DotA2 (only Faceless Void has this). “Backtrack” stacks with evasion from items. Faceless Void can still dodge attacks from a hero using Monkey King Bar with “Backtrack”.
Legion Commander's "Duel" disables evasion.
Lion's "Hex" disables evasion.
Scythe of Vyse's "Hex" disables evasion.
Shadow Shaman's "Hex" disables evasion.
Sniper’s “Headshot” passive skill negates evasion and miss chance, but only when this passive skill procs.
Tusk’s “Walrus Punch” cannot miss due to evasion or miss chance.
