People who care that much about an in-game number such as MMR (or pretty much any number in a video game)...geez, it kind of irritates me.

well, they are making money / keys with it. the true idiots are the ones who buy them, I guess.
@sam They are probably very skilled players. This becomes the way they "play" dota. These kinda people attach to much importance to their in game skill level and the boost it gives their ego. They know they are really good at dota, but they are too afraid to put it out their and try to play in leagues or on a competitive level. Some have awful personalities and lack the social skills to find a team. Instead they focus on abusing the game in any way they can, and if they can turn a profit that's even better.
Everyone enjoys making money when playing games though. I made some money on the steam market during new bloom, or in diablo 3 market, but those kinda things designed by the developers.

The leaderboards are going to be a joke if they let account with less than 100 matches on them.
Max I'd pay for a 6k mmr is about $6 dollars, cause I can do that stuff myself. Actually, just give it to me for free
