^ not if am bkb.
when bkb am duel spec. am won easily with more than half hp left.
The comparison is stuipid itself. You tried spectre with bkb, since it blocks the manadrain?
Spectre is harder than am, if not 1v1 in a 5v5 setup. The ulti hurts the entire team. On the other hand am can farm up waaay faster.
EXACTLY. Spectre is harder than am.
in dota2 game , officially spectre is a 3 star carry and iirc am is a 2star, shown on the hero cards.
dude, we were arguing who is harder than whom. 1vs1 duel is best to answer that. no need to bring the team and team make up and farm ....
I like doing this 1 vs 1 hard carries kind of games.
For example slardar with bash and his ulti outcarries sven, not even kidding go test it.
What safebase said
1v1 is not dota. You need to check the whole package. In 1v1 void is the "hardest" carry, but still not often picked competitive. An am will get 6 slots faster than spectre, but a spectre with nice farm will hurt the team more.
1v1 info is quite useful.
I played a game last night, hard carry 1v1 happens at least twice , after both teams got wiped.

I so wished i knew more about what happend sniper - alch 1v1 duel.
Even if you end up going mano a mano vs their carry at some point in the match you would never pick your carry based on 1v1 matchups, aside from specific counters. Like you're not going to pick spectre to counter anti mage, you'd pick gank heroes that have silences or build orchid like storm.
Also doom > all other in 1v1 if he gets doom off and has aghs making it an infinite doom.
I was able to 1v1 outcarry Void with Chrystal Maiden (Eblade, Dagon, Veil, Refresher, etc). 1v1 don't say anything.
@Potatobracket4life
well. i have higher winrate than you. make sure you have 50% winrate to post here dotabuff.
make sure you have 60% winrate to call someone mental disablity
@smaug.
I don't think you can outcarry Void with Chrystal Maiden with Eblade, Dagon, Veil, Refresher.
Void just need one single bkb to counter u. all problem solved.
wtf is point of this thread lol doesnt everyone know both these results allrdy without testing it?
you realise theres a youtube channel that has done every single carry vs carry with multiple different items lol
@dizzy.
wow didn't know that. was gonna start doing something like that 1 on 1 experiment for every hard carry.
I'll just mention this: Totally 6-slotted against totally 6-slotted in team fights, AM is not that great of a carry. He's great at split pushing, breaking the base apart slowly, and farming very very very quickly.
That last point (farming quickly) is important - it's what gives a 6 slotted AM the illusion that he is the ultimate force in DotA. But really, he is just at 700 gpm versus a bunch of heroes at 400 gpm. Even a CM with that much more GPM would rape at 40 minutes (not as well as AM, but the idea is still present).
In general, in a team big team fight where each team has 1 carry fully loaded, here is a list of heroes I expect to obliterate the AM team:
Chaos knight
Spectre
Terrorblade
Medusa
Sniper (if he can survive and is a glass cannon full of damage items; depends on initiation of enemies)
Faceless void (especially if he lands a great ultimate + has BKB)
PL if there are plenty of illusions.
These are very grainy statements. It would obviously matter what the actual compositions are in each team. But I'd agree with those general statements.
Well winrate =/= MMR.
Every carry has is pros and cons. The big pro of AM is his blink, low bat and magicresistance. Blink and resistance make him hard to gank+ he can farm incredibly fast with blink.
Benchmarks for AM are:
Min 15 BF and PT
Min 20 Yasha (or Vlads)
Min 25 Manta
Min 30 Hot
A Spectre will be always 1 item behind and thats why comparing 6 slot carries is just bullshit. Every carry or genrally spoken every hero has a timewindow, where he comes online.
AM is not a great carry at all. He only offers a low BAT, manaburn is easy countered by bkb. What makes him special is the ability to overwhelm the enemy with items+rat doto.
Thats why naix is the most common carrypick. He needs only phaseboots and drums to participate, but still has a pretty high celling.
And thats why comparing 6 slot carries is bullshit. It tells you nothing important. Esp the 1v1 setup is bullshit. Dota is 5v5!
Gyro will fall to most carries in a 1v1. The point of gyro is, that he can kill the enemy supports with 3-4 hits lategame. He has a massive aoe presence. I once played a game on sven vs gyro on enemy team. I was able to kill the gyro in nearly every teamfight, but after that i stood in 4 enemies, cause the flakkanon had killed my entire team.´
Dota is 5 vs 5, but you CANT test 5 vs 5 fights ( unless you want to call 9 more people to create a lobby, a that its probably not going to happen ) and some heroes are better in 1 vs 1 fights ( PA, Alch ) and its cool to know what would be the outcome in some of this fights, and what items works better to fight against another carries. You are saying that theory is enough to test it ? would you imagine that slardar can beat sven in a 1 vs 1 fight ?
I am not saying that dota is about 1 vs 1 or if this kind of things would matter in a real game, but its cool to know the strenghts of a hero in a lategame scenario against another hero.
btw, AM has the biggest winrate of ALL carries after 60 + minutes of game.

spec always win .
I have this friend who very convinced am > spec as a hard carry. (late game am rapes spec). we created a lobby and tested.
spec always win ... 10 duel 10 win with various items combination.
UNTIL am has bkb, which block spec's 2nd and 3rd skill, completely.
lesson learned: when against spec, bkb is important.
