Reality :
You need 2 heroes at least to push that lane because most of the time brood mother always has leading item than any hero of your team, sending one will just be a suicide mission. And one of those 2 must be pushing fast too. Meanwhile, brood mother just lets you push the lane and cut the next wave creep and 4 enemy heroes start camping your other towers. Just too much advantage from this "one" Brood mother pick.

and theres plenty of ways to get rid of the broodmother by picking her off since shes more often than not gonna be on her lonesome. obvious examples would be LC and bat with blink daggers. and then you can go do the 5v4 mid.

i get what you mean though cause in reality in APs its almost impossible to do anything to her if its a last pick situation. but that goes for some other heroes that are stupid in APs too.

and if everyone on their team has a necro if you blow a bkb to kill the necros its totally worth it. afterwards you can go and do a push or something while the necros are on cd. also a bkb with less than 10 sec duration has a shorter cd than necrobooks => you can potentially have it up while the enemy team doesnt have necrobooks up => pushing window.
