i prefer to go tanky items on viper like vanguard, mek etc since viper is paper. I cant comment on your lc build cos i just feed when i play him, you might want something for positioning like lothar or dagger idk

viper is not paper, though meka on him is viable if nobody else goes for it. you could possibly put drum there, or aghanim's is a good choice as well, his ult is powerful and 12 secs CD makes it OP. orchid and MKB are good but I don't see any reason for ethereal blade, would replace with butterfly.

apart from EB, it is ok for viper.

for LC I don't think so.
You should get dagger or sb to initiate easily.
And you don't need arcane boots on LC.

Better to use PT on LC for better stats

Viper has to become tanky ASAP.

Items like Mekanism, BKB, Heart, Butterfly are crucial on him (If a support can get Mek, then let them). Another core item is Aghanims which should be either the first or second big item you get after treads/phase.

Legion Commander doesn't need blademail, she needs attackspeed, damage, and a bkb.
Shadow Blade is decent on her, so is Blink. For attack speed mjolnir and AC work amazing on her, she can attack almost as fast as alchemist, and if she won a lot of duels that is a LOTTTT of DPS. Abyssal is obviously core on her because she can bash lock very effectively. BKB is situational on her, but in most cases you will need one.

It`s not good on both heroes. Viper needs treads meka and aghanim. Than build whatever you want but thats a core if you want to actually win games. Commander needs treads dagger/shadow blade than actually you can blaid mail or bkb or ac..and whatever next.

Consider a linkens or a BKB for survivability on viper over eblade..

Generally you don't want to get to the point of being 6 slotted as Viper.

If you have to go late game as viper you will be out carried. My item choice for late game viper would be: BoT, scepter, bkb, hex, heaven halberd and mkb/butterfly depending on their carries

BKB should be your first or second big item on viper if the other team have more than 2 stuns

i would also build LC like a kunkka.

u dont really need blademail because u are dueling supports most of the time

Viper is best played as a tank hero without BKB if it can be helped. The more people that attack him during a fight, the more people who are 25% slowed in attack and move speed for four seconds as your team just wipes them clean. And if they don't attack you, you kill very well too even without many damage items (in the early-mid game). Your second skill makes you do tons of damage to a low HP target, and there should be plenty of those running around. And your ultimate can be used to make anyone on their team a low HP target basically (though you sometimes have to use it to control a BKBed carry rather than for a kill on an easy target, depends).

So what is the bets way to leverage this hero? Solo farm mid usually. Grab boots and then phase as quickly as possible. This gives you the ability to engage your enemy (while ganking or the mid you're against) to get close enough to deliver your ult and kill him. It's basically a guaranteed kill, all you need is move speed.

Next, buy a mek as fast as possible, about 12 minutes into the game. Now, coordinate your team to take their farming lane towers, place aggressive wards, willy-nilly kill anyone you want any time you want, and continue pushing other towers. This mek timing plus the fact that you have early-game viper means you can't lose a team fight most likely.

Put the final nail in the coffin of the other team by becoming immortal when you buy your 20 minute heart.

This vanilla build almost never can go wrong. You can pick up a ring of Aquilla if you want, I sometimes do for mana regen, armor, and damage. I especially did it in my last game since I was against Bristle 1 v 1 and his goo took my armor away. You can also grab a sange & yasha before the heart. Why not? Same with drums. Why not? Both are fine, just get 'em if you want 'em. You still win.

Also, don't listen to vivivii about phase boots being bad on viper. The attack damage and jump in move speed are both invaluable. It's also the preferred choice on average for Merlini. Merlini > vivivi? Yup.

Treads are the preferred choice of almost all players who are better than Merlini, so, yeah.
