Because Dotabuff isn't perfect, and it prevents you from abandoning a game, your team winning without you, and then you getting a win recorded for you.

Why do abandonments count as loss on dotabuff. had a game (http://dotabuff.com/matches/437155249) where I abandoned due to inactivity, came back and still won. My in-game profile gained a win as well as MMR points.
