Rubic has been shifted from a hard support to a core support. You just have to play him as a 3 instead of a 5. It's more viable to do solo mid Rubic now.
yeah, i wonder if some of these changes were even needed, I've never seen such drastic and huge changes in one single patch previously with IceFrog.
Actually you get more gold per second... Why do people these days miss the most important part of the changes completely changing the competetive gameplay?
That extra 25 gpm means you can get 1 more set of sentry wards every 8 minutes. It is going to help supports but its not like suddenly they can afford Aghs. That will still require substantial farm.
Wards last longer, supports have more money, I don't see a problem in having more gold faster here.

those 25gpm wont make a difference in building an agh as Relentless correctly said.

Rubick previously could not be run as a core due to his unreliability to obtain gamebreaking spells and his paperness.
This just means its possible to run him as a core now. You can still play him as a support if you're unable to dedicate gold for Agahim. It just makes him more versatile.
If went support and you manage to farm up that Aghs then it doesn't matter because your team is crazy ahead.
Running mid is possible but its a waste of mid potential cuz he isn't really strong and can't control runes or gank that well. I imagine Aghs to be done when you run a 2-1-2 lane and you have another lane partner to dedicate you farm. Patch has buffed 2-1-2 after all.
Maybe now he will be a viable mid hero so he can get aghs, cause yeah if hes the ward bitch no way he will be able to afford it.
IMO, since Rubick is my top played hero:
- If the other team don't realize what a threat Rubick could be and let you live through ganks and team fights then yes, you MIGHT be able to get the gold for Agha; This also requires a good team that will coordinate properly.
- In the rest of the cases you're top priority target, good luck even finishing your force staff.
Speaking of a support Rubick as he's supposed to be played imo.

I'm not sure if I understand correctly Ck's change. Does it mean that if he gets a 4 sec stun, it will do shitty damage and if he gets a 1-2 sec stun, it'll deal close to or it's max damage?
lets see, most OP stun in the game (except alch), huge nuke and can use 2 of your ultis/other spells in a teamfight with no cast animation

Don't get me wrong, there are some positive aspects concerning Rubick in the new patch but i still don't get it.
As a support player with the jungle changes and this spell steal NERF (because it IS a nerf) i don't see how ill be useful with this hero as i used to be.
let me go into details a little:
with the need of buying wards, now even more the smoke and the active dewarding.
With the need of getting the most needed core items such as Arcane boots and Wand and a Force staff for example
how much is it going to take me to farm an aghanim to be for a much better use?
I like the idea of 5 seconds cool-down on the spell steal but lets not forget the nerf on the Telekinesis CD and as i mentioned before the jungle camps being moved and giving less gold and XP
what are your thoughts? i might see the thing from a wrong point of view here
