He had quite decent stats in his first few games. I guess that is why he was pushed to the first page but I doubt he will remain there much longer.

Keep in mind that he is surrounded by top tier players, even after 36 games he is still in that bracket.
His stats seem pretty decent, doubt he will be put into lower bracket anytime soon.
Anyhow, it takes more than 36 games to establish stable winrate while playing on a smurf account.

It only takes a few games for matchmaking to place a smurf in the right bracket.
Yet he got matched with top tier players after 34 games, despite having a big losing streak.
There are two options:
1. He belongs there
2. Matchmaking is broken
I'd side with #1 due to my mental condition.

Win rate aside, if he performs that well in the games Avidity showed, then he can't be horrible. Maybe not some crazy 1337 player but definitely better than SOME of the guys bashing him here.
EDIT: I've had a drop of positive games of 25 to breakeven at 50% over the past week. I don't think I played drunk and my MMR has more or less settled in. Its just variance.
Everyone here is overlooking the possibility that the smurf is queueing up with "top page regulars." Well, it pretty much wouldn't matter then, he'd be in the top page. I have seen "high level" players (very far from top page) reach it by queueing up in a 5 stack with 2 "top page players" and 2 decent players.
The problem is not this player it is simply a common failure of matchmaking made obvious in this case. This player is not queing with excellent players and causing them to lose over an over...he is solo queuing to the very top and losing consistently and his MMR is not decreasing because it already stabilized. His uncertainly is already low, a huge loss streak doesn't move it.
This poor guy has been totally screwed by the matching system that ranked him far too high and then locked him in at an inappropriately high rating. He has gone 6-26...nearly 77% loss since he was jumped to the top by the anti-smurf mechanism. The matching system has failed, totally failed to correct his score despite losing 18 of the last 19 games!!!! at the end of THAT losing streak is still page 1 vs Bone7.
Matching has utterly failed. That is not variance...that is a player who cannot compete at the level he has been assigned. He is not bad...he is really very good...but still nowhere near good enough to play page 1 games.
