Yes absolutely. You would get all the items and bonus with that. Having said that I have not bought one and I am pretty cool with that too.
No, its not worth it. Everyone already has compendium items and shit, so if u want that you can trade for them pretty much cheaper than compendium itself.

why not? what can you buy better with 10 euros? it's not like it's 1000 euros, it's just only 10
and the heroes I love to play with they either don't have sets for it or either are more expensive than 10 euros
^Lets not forget that you get an 225% XP boost that last until the international. So you gonna get some items by leveling up more.

COmpendium= Battle Bonus + HUD + taunts +Smeevil + Interactive Compendium + Smeevil
1. Battle bonus -- Awesome for people who use it.
2. HUD -- HORRIBLE
3. Taunts -- Juggernaut, Pudge and Crystal maiden taunts are awesome. Lina, antimage sucks.
4. Interactive compendium -- Valve has promised to fill it up by august
5. Smeevil -- Ugly as of now. But 3 mounts have been promised. and they look good + they will ahve unusual effects.

The battle point bonus is great, get it for that. There's still about 2 months of it left.
It's not worth it. Because of the amount of Compendiums that are out there, all of the items have a very low value. I know people are fapping to the idea of getting an Immortal item, which will be worth 1 key if you are lucky when there are 300,000+ of them out there.
Battlebonus is useless as well, just think about it. The chances of getting a rare is approximately 1/310, and a mythical is 1/910 from playdota. Let's keep in mind that no one will trade for 50% of the rares, about 40% will get you a 6:1 ratio for rares:key, and the remaining 10% will get you a 2-4:1 ratio for a key. Even most mythicals now are worth half a key as well..So even if you are doubling or tripling the points you are getting, you still aren't getting much out of it.
So what should you do? Buy yourself 6 keys for like ~$11USD (from a trader through paypal) and trade for things that you want.
from what i saw in game it seems to me like valve lowered drop chances of uncommon/rare s even further since like 1/2weeks after compendium hit the shop
Nice comment, too bad it doesn't mean anything. If you are talking about how much you value the items, if you buy keys from a trader, you can get exactly what you want, and at a much lower price instead of the compendium package unless you really like every single thing that's in it.

You could get 30 rares or so of your choice, the amount would depend on which rares you want. Maybe you could spend a key or two on getting a courier, again could even be 2 for 1 depending on what you want. You could get a couple sets.
Is that being a jew, or getting a lot more of what you want for the same price?
you get the compendium where you will get stuff from. you get all the stuff that already comes with the compendium. you don't have to deal with some dirty trader. sounds like a good deal man
No shit, its too bad nothing the compendium currently has nothing thats really that nice. The smeevil is decent, taunts are crap, HUD is crap (seriously, dat colour scheme is so shit for DotA) BB is useless...Compendium itself is a joke. So what's the appeal?
I could get 6 keys, buy the courier and still have 5 keys to get some decent stuff. You can actually get quite a few older sets that aren't that expensive anymore. Like the Doom Polycount set is just 2 keys, AM set (blades + chest from mageslayer, rest from fashion of yoskreth) for about 2 keys...there are plenty of really nice things that you can get, and you can choose whatever the hell you want.
doom polycount is ugly, am set is ugly. smeevil is nice, taunts are nice, HUD is nice, bb is awesome. see, people have different opinions. it's magic
He can get all the items from the compendium for about $9 (and while he might like some of the stuff in there, I am sure that there are things he would rather have than some of the stuff from the compendium package. Like I said, find shit that you like, then buy keys off a trader (via middleman of course), and then put up a trade for what you want or add someone offering whatever you want.
I have one, I would say it's worth it cause it's pretty cool. The Battle Bonus is nice but all i got at leveling up is the same old bullshit common items, and some of them dropped twice like 3 or 4 times. Other people are more lucky.
I'd buy 5 more compendiums if they'd make me communication-ban immune.
