Return of the Morphling? in General Discussion

Navi vs EG game 2 WePlay dota 2...XBoct morphling proves he is still an extremely difficult hero to kill.

The big post TI2 nerf has slowed down Morphling timeing dramatically. We are not going to see the "most picked" Morphling of last year, but once you have some items Morphling still seems like a legitimate option for a top pro carry.

This game Navi won quickly. Can Morphling still win a long game? His single target dps is extremely high, but his teamfight dps can't compare to luna, gyro, or PL. We will see.

you will not see him more often just because there are a lot of better heroes with a teamfight potential aswell, Morphling has 0 teamfight potential
looking forward to Elder Titan the TI3 Naga Siren

Yeah I don't see how morphling or PA have can hope to stack up against the powerhouse carries of the current meta game. But several TI3 invite and qualifiers teams seem to be tossing in one or two games on any somewhat viable carry in the weeks leading up to the tournament.

I am not sure if they want a real test of their options or are just trying to keep everyone guessing so it is harder to draft against them. Navi and Rox.KIS also played and won on ursa this week. Ursa was banned against Navi when they started the draft the same way the next game.

I'm very happy that the game has proven balanced enough that the majority of heroes could be played at the highest levels with some success. I think smoke has really contributed to that diversity. I still think PL needs to require risk to fight, but overall IceFrog and Valve have done a great job.

I may be missing something but I do not expect ET to be in captains mode for TI3. We will probably see all the rest of the heroes added by the end of the year.

Like morphling is the new medusa, in some way, he needs at least 30-35 minutes to actually get the ability to burst supports, and 50 minutes to overcome other carries, he is still rly great if the game goes 50 minutes or more, because any item that gives him agility doesn't only give autoattack dmg but also more burst dmg, and PA is a chance hero, if u r lucky, u would rape with this hero, 3 crits in a row?
            Deadly for sure

And EG.Fear is not arrogant, and thats why he bans heroes that would full fill some of the enemy's strats, like that of ursa, and SKM, rubick, the controlling signature heroes of Na`Vi players were banned by Fear, SKM and rubick, but ppy was too arrogant to believe that Fear's nyx is way too much for Na`Vi to deal with, he picked off Furion and antimage like 4 times each, that was rly huge and u can't do this, every bit of advantage helps, and funn1k (on furion) was so damn lucky that most of the time Fear was about to scout him, then decides to turn to other lane/neutrals, but his luck didn't help him later

It was not just Morphling, the entire navi team was snowballing in that game. Morphling is still heavily farm and mana dependent hero to use his all power effectively. He is inferior to other carries at early-mid game.

Ursa was easily kited with ghost scepters, it wasn't effective that much. I don't understand why EG banned the Ursa.

And Fear played great as always.

Fear never seems to have a mediocre game. Even if everything else is failing, he always does his job and then somehow finds extra room to push it to another level despite lower levels, less farm, less map vision. You can always count on old man fear to come through.
