How do I donate again? in General Discussion

I donated the $6.00 mostly because I found this site valuable and didn't give a shit about the DBR, but all the other features that came with premium were impressive to say the lease.

You just issued back my $6.00 but I would be more than happy to donate $10.00 in lieu of the donation because I actually find value to the site and don't mind paying for things I like.

I would prefer bitcoins instead of Paypal. Let me know and it will happen.

i Can feel u. I prefer give money to dotabuff who has something to give us than valve who their only priority is how to sell kunnka's hat to make 0.50 from every1 and be happy.

You mean the same company who also made the game on a better engine and everything and made it free to play with cosmetics and a market that have no effect on the game itself which can be completely ignored if you want?

But you'd rather pay for a "stats", stats which have been collected, displayed and analysed on a ton of other sites in the past, I don't know many for dota2 (other than this and dotaholic), but there were lots of stat tracking sites for different things like Garena and dotacash which also had a ton of games.

        Smart.

Some people just "hate" the idea of Valve. Just the idea of a large company making a product and monetizing it is an anathema. Only small companies deserve our cash. Small companies that merely present information that they should, by rights, be thanking Valve for allowing anyone to view at all.

          i Can feel u, Just(wiNner... and it's horrible.

No hatred for Dotabuff, by the way. They've invested time and money here and I do not have any problem with them accepting donations for their work. But I do NOT forget that DotA is Valves game, Valves information and Valves livelyhood (which includes more that the 4 or so people who work at Dotabuff). That Valve let anyone look at this information at all is a privilege, not a right.

Instead of collecting USD6 a month, can you guys come up with an annual package? USD25 a year is a good place to start.

            What say the community?

            Monkeh

              yeah, cos 12 x 6 = 25 right?

              daggius

Nanolathe, moron, we would give money to valve if they provided the same service

                GOP_FiSh

@You_Got_Fukt If Valve provided these stats we wouldn't need to pay for them. But since they aren't and it requires others to data mine, analyze and then create a website to show the data , that is a lot of work and should be respected. If that means people want to donate then why would you have anything against anyone wanting to do that?

                  Murfshake

This isn't about Valve or anything even remotely like that. It is about who can provide what, and the fact that I actually like to donate to people who provide good, original content.

Don't get me wrong, I have spent a shitload on Dota2 items and even went to The International.

This isn't a good vs. evil, it is just one person looking to chip in a bit to support a site they like.

                    cupcakebruh

@GOP_Fish, Valve created a parsing tool to allow for match data to be mined, don't pretend they tried to stop such actions from happening, and many other sites had done this in the past too.

Now if you take your head out of your ass, and read my comment, its directed towards just(whingingbaby who seems to believe that Valve have done nothing, and would rather pay the people who are asking for money for stats, rather than the company who made (or remade, whatever you want to call it) dota2 and made it F2P, are constantly fixing/patching getting the game ready for release, and adding cosmetics with its own whole market and shit for people to mess around with if they want.

I'm not against OP wanting to donate money to dotabuff. I think that this site would make a lot more money by allowing for donations and releasing all information for free. Its not about being stingy with money or something, its that this whole plus membership thing is so retarded its not even funny.

                      Just(wiNner

Dotabuff gave us a motive to play(dbr is very cool even if its unofficial). I dont care if dota2 is f2p that u say like its something good. I would prefer if valve made a good job(ranking/rating) and sell the game in a high price (so noobs and tards wouldnt buy it)

                        cupcakebruh

Valve made the fucking game you degenerate piece of shit.Valve has a rating system, its just not made public, and who knows what they were planning considering the game is still in beta at the moment. Fact is, DBR does not change anything in terms of who you play against or anything, its just a number that represents where you stand in comparison to other players which is likely to be very close to the current system that Valve is using.

You have fed in 15 of your last 19 games (https://dotabuff.com/players/94899335/matches), so I wouldn't start calling anyone else a noob right now.

                          Just(wiNner

Sorry that i play with and against pro players(2 of the 20 games vs loda(1-1 w/l) 1 with s4) and lot of games with support so its sure that will have more deaths than kills. https://dotabuff.com/players/95446251/matches take my pubstomp account who is 1700 platinum and i play vs terribads and have 20 kills each game.
