Losing on rating when you do not play in General Discussion

    Sup,

when people do not play Dota 2 for a rather long time, they should get a drop in their Ranking. Even when you had a 2 months break, your skills do decrease to some extent and you need some matches to get used to the game again.

I don't know whether you did already consider something like that yet, but if not, you might want to implement it.

stop crying about the rating its a thing that it will be applyed sooner or later

You are an idiot... Thanks for showing that to all of us :D

As i am no longer a 14 yr old, I have to take a break from dota2 every once in a while (college/commitments/life in general). Doesnt mean I become a noob every time I come back to play.
More over to play well in dota you have to develop a "sense" of the game. Sumthing that does not disappear with time.. like learning to ride a bicycle or swimming.

You do not forget the basics once you learned to swim f.e., that is true. But there is a difference between swimming 100 m after 12 months of training or 100 m after a 2 months pause. Your time will be far worse, same applies to Dota 2.

What about people like me? When i return home from my college flat i play warcraft 3 dota with friends because i have a bad internet connection here. So, any pause i make is not a real pause.

The rank system of League of Legends has taken the problem into consider and if you dont play a rank game for long(2 months I remember), your rank will drop. Maybe it's not fair to some people but you have to admit that most people who pause the game is a real pause and their skill of playing will also drop.

Indeed.. not highest priority though. besides, this is DBR.

If its public rating then let it drop on inactivity.. but if its private it doesn't matter at all!

                  Im bad that's why <3

In LoL it's called "Elo decay" and it will start decreasing your rating in the queue where you didnt play for 2 weeks. Your rating will decrease up to 1400 (not more) afair. (Starting Elo is 1200 afair)

In my opinion ranking drop is stupid (when you don't play).

That means that player who plays all the time could have better ranking than the other player who can be better than him just doesn't play all the time...

If I countinue playing on a same level I don't see the reason for rank drop that I worked hard to get there.

I played all: Dota 1, HoN, LoL and now I am playing Dota 2. Dota 2 is the best game of them all (in my opinion) but HoN has the best matchmaking/ranking system.
