When I play carry and enemy cuts wave I feel like its not a good trade because enemy offlane is getting free farm but when im playing offlane and I cut wave I feel like as if I shouldn't do it cause the enemy safelane will get all creeps. Can someone explain to me what should I be doing in each situation thanks :")

I think it is only really worth cutting the lane if you are solo, a trilane elsewhere will often force a rotation from the enemy support which makes your life in the offlane easy and enables you to cut the lane. The main pitfall with cutting the lane otherwise is the possibility of destroying your pos 4’s xp but if you have a trilane this doesnt even matter

It's simple. If you have a stronger matchup, then it's unfavourable for you to let the enemy cut waves and vice versa.

If you are playing a weak carry, that could have been harrassed by the offlaner, then its a good thing if he cuts the waves. (Just get enough regen to tank the creeps)

If you are playing a strong carry, you can try to go on the offlaner with your 5 / and 4, because THEN, its a bad trade letting him free farm.

If you are the offlaner, and you cant lane vs a strong carry like Ursa or MK or Slark, it's better to cut waves.

If you are the offlaner and you have kill potential on the carry, of if the carry is weak and can be zoned out, then you shouldn't cut waves.
