If youre good at calling things out and youre a support player, not core, you can get away with 6k.
But thats super rare
7k mmr + is VERY optimistic. You need at least 8k and you need to be very lucky that someone discovers you.
That guy from SG is apparently 5.5k, but hes a support and he probably doesn't grind solo much. I would say as a core player 7k is the absolute minimum and 8k+ is probably mandatory nowadays to even have the basic skills to make it at the top level. Even saying that there are plenty of 8k+ players who don't have the skillset due to inflating their mmr with various methods.
^Heck some of the top 50 players on the official leaderboard (top 200) aren't even in the teams that participate/qualify in big tourneys
